Dogfish “Sixty One” Beer/Wine Hybrid Is A Hit [VIDEO]
Dogfish Head’s (Milton, DE) Sixty One has turned out to be a hit. Demand for the IPA with grape must has run high. The brewery is busy making more. The base beer is 60 Minute IPA with one more ingredient – Syrah grape must.
The brewery has made a decision to push production of Sixty One up 80% in 2014 over 2013 numbers.
The next release of Sierra Nevada’s Beer Camp is upon us. Lucky attendees make a pilgrimage to Chico, California all year long to try their hand at brewing. The best of the best make it into a sampler pack. This August, look these beers in the 2013 edition (See L-R):
#93 IPA–This IPA sacrifices nothing for its drinkability, flexing big time flavor and complexity. The light color disguises the depth of the malt backbone, a pillar that balances the potent whole-cones of the piney-citrus Cascade and tropical fruit-like Citra hops. #94 Belgian-style Black IPA–This beguiling black IPA takes a tropical detour with a dose of new world hops, featuring lemony Sorachi Ace and fruity Nelson Sauvin varieties. A Belgian yeast works with the exotic hop profile, emphasizing its complex and fruity flavors.
#95 Imperial Red Ale–Our aggressive Imperial Red Ale is a massive mix of smooth malts and West Coast hops that have no patience for the lupulin leery. This crimson beer starts with caramel-like malt flavor that can’t suppress the assertive, citrusy hop finale.
Sierra Nevada Beer Camp Beers are available in 12oz/12 pack cases, and very limited draft offerings.
Styles: IPA, Belgian-Style Black IPA, & Imperial Red Arrival: August, 2013
Boulevard Brewing Company is adding a new IPA to their core lineup -Pop-Up Session IPA. The hoppy brew joins Single-Wide and Double Wide IPAs. This offering is following a new trend in craft beer – lower alcohol. Pop-Up is just 4.2% ABV.
“I’ve been challenging our brewers to experiment with full-flavored, lower alcohol beers for quite some time,” said John McDonald, Boulevard founder and president. “It is important to me that Boulevard has balanced offerings that beer fans can enjoy for any occasion. Pop-Up I.P.A. has become a staple in my refrigerator ever since the first test batches were produced.”
Look for Pop-Up Session India Pale Ale will hit Boulevard Brewing Co’s distribution network in August.
Winter release for this Samuel Adams. The berries add and interesting twist to a hoppy brew. Just ask the Norwegians.
For this special release, we wanted to brew a flavorful winter IPA that captured the aroma of the season. This brought us to juniper berries, which add a slightly sweet, piney character. Complimented by citrus notes from American hops, this balanced IPA will brighten the holidays. Cheers!
