Monday Night Preps New Hipster Offering

Monday Night Brewing (Atlanta) is prepping a new bottle release – their first wet hop offering. (Hops picked straight from the vine and added to the beer asap.) Meet Hipster Fresh Hop Harvest, the beer that was doing before it was cool.

This fresh hop beer was cool before fresh hop beers were mainstream.

This fresh hop beer only listens to vinyl and b-sides.

This fresh hop beer uses Chinook hops because Chinook is the “skinny jeans’ of hops.

This fresh hop beer wears flannel in the summer.

Style: Wet Hop IPA
Availability: 22oz Bombers, Draft
Arrival: October, 2013

5.5% ABV

Odell’s Red IPA for “Shoulder Season”

Odell Runoff Red IPA

A red IPA for the changing season? Runoff Red IPA from Odell Brewing Co. is the new name for Red Ale. Typically spring and fall.  Red IPAs have a strong malt backbone, giving them a darker, sometimes red appearance (depending on the malt the brewer uses.) The goat that was once on the Red Ale label is still in this label. Can you find it?

Runoff is a rebranding of our seasonal Red Ale. We wanted to give the beer a new label and name that better depicts the spirit of the season, and offers depth and imagery that match our other seasonal offerings. It’s also a new description of the beer, though we have not changed the recipe. It’s always been a very hoppy brew, and Red IPA more accurately describes the style

Style: Red IPA
Availability: 12oz bottles, Draft
Arrival: TBA

6.5% ABV

Founders Centennial IPA Released in Cans

Founders Brewing will be following up their All Day IPA can release with another hoppy offering – Centennial IPA. The year round offering features one hop, and a lot of flavor. The only thing you’re probably wish now is that summer would start over again.

Get ready to bask in the glory of the frothy head’s floral bouquet. Relish the citrus accents from the abundance of dry hopping. This one’s sweet, yet balanced. Malty undertones shake hands with the hop character for a finish that never turns too bitter.

Style: IPA
Availability: 12oz bottles, Draft
Arrival: Early 2014

7.2% ABV

SanTan Brewing Company (Chandler, AZ) is releasing a new fall seasonal in cans – SuperMonk Belgian IPA. American hops meet Belgian yeast in this blend of styles that is coming quite popular.

SuperMonk Belgian IPA is a slightly hazy Belgian IPA. The aroma lends notes of citrus and upon first sip; hoppy bitterness dances with slight peppery notes, then gives way to orange and fruit. Very drinkable and light on the palate. Ideal for craft beer lovers and “hopheads” alike!

Style: Belgian IPA
Hops: Cascade, Columbus
Malts: Pale Malt, Malted Wheat, Munich Malt, Vienna Malt

Availability: 12oz cans, Draft. September Seasonal

Lagunitas “Day Time IPA” Headed to Year Round Next Year

IMG_5621 copy

Lagunita’s Founder Tony Magee is just about ready to make Daytime IPA a year round offering. Interestingly, the first year round offerings of DayTime will come from the new Chicago location. Looks like first quarter, 2014 for this beer to truly make its way to all of the Lagunitas markets.

The IPA sold out quickly when it was released nearly a year ago. Magee said on Twitter yesterday that DayTime will be released after the hop harvest and the fermentation cellar is in place in Chicago. The original Petaluma location is maxed.

Style: American IPA
Availability: 12oz bottles, Draft
Arrival: 2014 (Second time, Year round)
