Stone Go To IPA releases in tallboy cans

Stone Go To IPA, the brewery’s session IPA, marks the third canned offering by the Escondido, California based brewery. The beer is proceeded by Stone IPA, and Arrogant Bastard in cans.

Stone Go To IPA is the brewery’s lower alcohol beer released in early 2014, while still carrying Stone’s hoppy seal of approval.

Since Day One, we’ve been abundantly forthright and fully transparent about our lust for hops. It’s led us to craft many an IPA, most of them imperial—some intense for their time and all timeless in their intensity. For Stone Go To IPA, we embrace our hop obsession in a new way, funneling an abundance of lupulin-borne bitterness into a “session” IPA that delivers all the fruity, piney character of a much bigger IPA. To accomplish this, we employ “hop bursting,” a new technique wherein an irrational amount of hops is added during the final phase of the brewing process to coax out extreme flavors and aromas while also imparting a burst of desirably pleasant bitterness. The result is an alpha-acid-rich beer that fans can enjoy more of without missing out on the assertive hop character you, like us, crave. So, sit back and go two with your new everyday go-to IPA and bask along with us in the glory of the almighty hop.

Stone Go To IPA will be available starting June 6th in 16 ounce cans. The beer is currently available on draft, and 12 ounce cans.

Style: IPA
Hops: Ahtanum, Amarillo, Cascade,Chinook, Citra, Crystal, Magnum, Mosaic, Sterling, Hopsteiner 06300

Availability: 12oz Bottles
Arrival (Cans): Early June, 2016

4.5% ABV

Wild Heaven Wise Blood IPA debuts today

Wild Heaven Wise Blood IPA will be the Avondale Estates, Georgia based brewery’s next canned offering.

As of today, Wild Heaven’s brewmaster Eric Johnson has brewed 40 different test batches of Wise Blood, dialing in the recipe each time. If you are wondering why so many test batches, you’ll need to understand more about Eric. Each one of his recipes is very intentional and deliberate. Eric will brew a thousand test batches if it means getting it right. We have noticed a trend where some breweries will release a beer that is not even close to being ready for public consumption. Quite a scary thought when there are new folks learning and trying new beers everyday.

We’ve tasted the test batches along the way, and he’s pretty damn close.

To date, Wild Heaven has released Emergency Drinking Beer, and White Blackbird in cans with great success. (Especially with EDB.)

In the meantime, this sexy can above is what you’ll get when the recipe is ready.

Ska Hop Ivy, brewed with all Colorado everything

Ska Hop Ivy is now available in cans – the brewery’s first canned beer sourced entirely from Colorado ingredients.

Loosely based on one of Ska’s other beers, Hoperation Ivy, a wet hop ale with local hops, Ska Hop Ivy showcases locally grown Chinook and Nugget hops. Both hops were harvested at Simply Grown LLC hop farm in Palisade, Colorado. The malts are grown and malted at Colorado Malting Co. in Alamos.

The local sourcing doesn’t stop there. The yeast is from the Brewing Science Institute in Woodland Park. The brewery also used snowmelt from the San Juan Mountains.

“Hop Ivy is a tribute to Colorado’s many local farmers,” says Ska Co-founder and Colorado native, Bill Graham.  “Using local harvest in the brewing process and selling the finished product within the state supports the economy and the wellbeing of Colorado—our home.”

Ska Hop Ivy is available in 12 ounce cans across the state of Colorado.

Style: IPA
Hops: Chinook, Nugget

Availability: 12oz Cans, Draft
Debut: May, 2016
