Brewed with waffles. Arizona Wilderness & Tired Hands team up.

This weekend, Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co. debuted a new beer collaboration – a dream for breakfast food lovers and brunchers alike. Pour another cup of coffee and read on.

Arizona Wilderness Leggo my Ego, a collaboration with Tired Hands, is brewed with waffles. Despite what the name suggests, the brewing team used waffles from Phoenix, Arizona local Welcome Chicken & Donuts. Note in the pic above, the a hop back full of said waffles. The wort was run through the stacks of waffles on the way to the fermenter.

Leggo my Ego, an Imperial IPA,  is brewed with maple syrup, lactose milk sugar, and biscuit malt. Hops for the interested – Belma and Simcoe.

Arizona Wilderness packaged Leggo My Ego in 32 ounce crowlers, available starting Saturday.

Add this to a list of epic, or soon to be epic breakfast themed foods, like Founders Breakfast Stout, and upcoming Dogfish Head Beer for Breakfast.

Is there any limit to what we can do with breakfast food? Let’s hope not.

Hops & Honey: Stone Citracado IPA

Stone Citracado IPA has debuted here in August, 2016. The brewery celebrates 20 years of brewing this year.

The Escondido, California based brewery knows hops. Loves hops. Honestly, their India pale ale and various approaches have changed the beer scene in America. Perhaps with so many wins under Stone’s belt, it’s easy to get excited when another hoppy beer is afoot.

Stone Citracado IPA is brewed with the ever-so-hot Citra hops, plus a dose of avocado flower honey. Loosely, those are the same elements that make Bell’s Hopslam so popular (hoppy, with a touch of finishing sweetness).  Ed note. Before your blood boils for saying that beer geeks, not everyone is an expert on beer like you. Some folks need a little correlation or perspective.

For 20 years our passion for brewing and our obsession with hops has challenged traditional styles and expectations for beer. So Its only fitting we commemorate this momentous occasion by crafting a liquid ode to bold brewing that satisfies your hop thirst and pays homage to our flagship San Diego brewery, located on Citracado Parkway (which itself pays homage to the citrus and avocado agricultural history of the region).
“Citracado” also teases the two key Ingredients of this been “Citra” refers both to the juicy gem of a hop and its citrusy (and tropical) aromas and flavors. “Cado” inspired us to utilize wonderful, native avocado flower honey. Combine the two and the result pours like silk and abounds with enough hops to match our excitement for reaching this 20-year milestone. We thank you sincerely for the years of support and pledge that we will, as always, strive to live up to the reasons for your loyalty!

Taste: Stone has created another winner in the hop spectrum. Citra really takes the stage (and shines) in this release. Thank to an addition of Avocado flower honey, you won’t have a lot of bitterness to deal with. 22 ounces doesn’t last long.

Stone Citracado IPA is a 22 ounce bottle and draft offering. Drink fresh, drink now.

Style: Imperial IPA (w/ Avocado Flower Honey)
Hops: Citra

Availability: 22oz Bottles, Draft
Debut: Mid-August, 2016

9% ABV
