The Vixen is a chocolate chili bock with cinnamon.
The Vixen is smooth and rich with an enticing touch of sweetness and ends with a spicy heat. For this unique brew we used carefully roasted malts and dark cocoa nibs for a full bodied and slightly sweet flavor. To this roast and chocolaty base we added an element or warmth and spice with cinnamon and chilies. Dark and alluring, the brew will keep you captivated. Batch #1

Saturday August 13, 2011 the 3rd release of Olde Rabbit’s Foot arrives. A collaborative blend of wort from Duck Rabbit, Foothills, & Olde Hickory. 22oz bombers are $20 each, 4 bottle limit.
From Foothills:
It’s almost time for the third annual release of the famous collaborative brew Olde Rabbit’s Foot, appearing in bottles on Saturday, August 13.
For those who don’t already know, the Olde Rabbit’s Foot is a truly unique brew crafted from the labors of three different NC microbreweries. Duck Rabbit, Olde Hickory, and Foothills each contributed the wort from their signature imperial stouts; the combined brew was then aged in Pappy Van Winkle barrels with honey and cocoa nibs to produce a libation guaranteed to sweeten your countenance and enhance your reputation.
The bottles are 22 oz. and $20 each, and will go on sale at 10am. As with past bottle releases, we do recommend being very early to wait in line– there is a limit of four bottles per person, but supplies are still limited, and we cannot guarantee or reserve bottles for anyone.
I mentioned a few weeks ago that John & Chris Trogner of Troeg’s Brewing (Harrisburg, PA) flew out to Escondido, California to collaborate with Stone Brewing. Great news for sure, but the details of what was getting brewed was unknown until now. The result is a Cherry Chocolate Stout.
This beer is actually a 3(4?) way collaboration featuring 2 homebrewer’s Jason Fields & Kevin Sheppard. The duo won the American Homebrewers Association Rally in March. The grand prize is brewing with Stone & a brewery of their choice. To clue you in a little bit – previous winner Ken Schmidt brewed the Kona Coffee Macadamia Coconut Porter. (The leftover is the first edition of the Quingenti Series.) Fields and Sheppard won the rally with their Cherry Chocolate Stout recipe. This beer will include chocolate, cherries, & vanilla beans. John Trogner describes the collab:
Homebrewing is a catalyst fueling American craft brewers. The opportunity to spend a day with Jason & Kevin (and the brewers from Stone) and bring their vision to life took us back to Boulder, Colorado, where we would spend hours formulating recipes, homebrewing, and educating our palates. Our earliest roots start with a six-gallon pot, a beat-to-crap stove and a burning desire. That curiosity of taste, our DIY aspirations, and youthful stubbornness has grown into Troegs Brewery, and those early days still fuel our passion.
Coming soon from Goose Island Brewing is “Big John” imperial stout. The name “Big John” refers to the John Hancock Building in Chicago, Illinois. The label depicts the pattern on the building. The Hancock Building is built with X braces to help the building withstand wind.
Because the Hancock Building is such a stand out in the Chicago skyline, Goose Island wanted a beer that “stands out vividly against the little soft beers out there.” Big John is big on roasted malts and cacoa nibs. This big beer is also “with a body as substantial and black as the building to which it pays homage, Big John is sure to inspire a sense of awe with each sip.”

For those of you new to our beer, the Sexual Chocolate is an award-winning Russian Imperial Stout infused with organic cocoa nibs. Deep opaque black in color, it offers notes of espresso, blackstrap molasses, toffee, and dark fruits that serve to mask an alcohol content approaching ten percent.
Some of the accolades for the Sexual Chocolate include a silver medal at the ultra-prestigious Brewer’s Association World Beer Cup earlier this year, a bronze medal at the Great American Beer Festival in 2009, and a gold medal from the same festival in 2010 for Sexy C’s bourbon barrel-aged cousin.
As in years past, the Sexual Chocolate is $15 per 22-ounce bottle, with a limit of four bottles per customer. Lines can start forming at 4 am, and bottles will go on sale at 11 am. Please keep in mind that we cannot hold bottles for anyone, and that cutting places in line or holding places for other people is strictly prohibited. With that said, we can’t wait to see you here!
Can’t make it to Winston-Salem for the release? All is not lost. Look for on-premise Sexual Chocolate draft releases all over North Carolina from February 1-4 and a Virginia debut on February 7 at Jack Brown’s Joint in Harrisonburg, VA. We’ll keep you posted on all the Sexual Chocolate releases as more information becomes available.

Commercial Description: The taste continues with the intense Belgian dark chocolate gliding across the tongue; starting sweet up front but giving way to rich cocoa flavors at the back. Through it all, a subtle fruitiness from our special Belgian yeast gives the beer brightness otherwise foreign to a beer style normally associated with gray foggy skies. Lingering chocolate entices the drinker to taste more. Go ahead. Dessert is good for the soul.
Style: Belgian Dark Ale Hops: Perle Malts: Unknown
Taste Expectations: Dark chocolate nose. Taste is dark malts, cocoa, roasted malt. Bit of dark fruit from the yeast. The chocolate isn’t overwhelming.
Availability: 750ml, Corked/Caged. Some draft offerings
