Wynkoop Brewing (Denver, CO) has recently introduced a new can for your rocky mountain drinking pleasure – Colorojo Imperial Red Ale. The amber ale uses a blend of four American hops added 6 different times during the brew, and a chuck of specialty grains.

A tea-colored beer with a dense latte-like head, Colorojo has a boozy nose of pine, orange marmalade and turbinado sugar. These aromas arrive atop flavors of caramel, alcohol, a note of chocolate, and more resin and citrus flavors…

Now available where ever you can snag these cans, ERP $8.99.

Style: Imperial Red Ale
Availability: 12oz cans, Draft

8.2% ABV, 65 IBUs

Fullsteam Gears Up For Cack-A-Lacky Cans

Fullsteam Cack-a-Lacky

Fullsteam Brewery will soon be taking year round offering Cack-A-Lacky to cans.  The ginger pale was first launched on tap in January of this year. This described “refreshing, hoppy, and zippy” pale ale is brewed in partnership with Cackalacky  Hot Sauces out of Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Fullsteam has some high hopes for this beer. The brewery hopes Cack-A-Lacky will soon become a nationally known beer. This “southern” pale ale uses both fresh and candied ginger for it’s unique flavor. If you currently have Fullsteam on tap in your hood, you might have Cack-A-Lacky now. Soon you will take some home in cans.

Style: Pale Ale (w/ Ginger)
Availability: Draft, 12oz Cans (Soon)

?? ABV

Note: CACKALACKYâ„¢ contains none of the “famously original” extraordinary spiced condiment made from sweet potatoes created a decade ago and still produced in Chapel Hill. (True, and funny.)

Mikkeller’s First U.S. Can is With Half Acre

Half Acre Beer Company (Chicago, IL) will release a new collaboration with Mikkeller on July 3rd.

What’s inside:

The collaboration brew uses a lager yeast strain, but that’s about as far as the lager part goes. It clocks in at 8% and plays jump rope with the style line of hoppy lagers, IPAs, and more. Hops include Nelson Sauvin & Falconer’s Flight.

What’s outside:

The label art is a mash up between HA’s Phineas and Mikkeller’s go-to artist Keith Shore.

Availability:

16oz/4 pack cans. Retail $14.99 at Half Acre in Chicago. No distribution.

That’s the rundown.

Shiner Cheer Coming to Cans

If you ask this writer (using the term loosely) what he likes to drink around the holidays, I’d give you a few answers. As crazy as it may sound to some, I look forward to Shiner Cheer. This brew has a nice fresh taste of peaches and pecans that really compliments a lot of food options. (New Belgium’s Frambozen is another great one.)

When the season rolls around once again, you’ll see Shiner Cheer in cans for the first time. The only question it raises to me is- are cans equally as important when the weather is cold?

Style: Fruit Beer (w/ Peaches, Pecans)
Availability: 12oz bottles, Draft (Cans soon)
