Mother’s Brewing Launches Cans

Mother’s Brewing Company (Springfield, MO) has just launched canned options for the craft beer drinking public.

The first options include two offerings from their year round lineup:

Towhead: Towhead is Mother’s little blonde baby. We’ve captured a subtle blend of sweet, fruity flavors—well suited for close examination yet balanced enough to go down smooth, clean, and crisp when you just want something cold and tasty.

Lil’ Helper: Mother’s Midwest Coast IPA is hopped in both the wort kettle and aging vessel for a sharp, clean bitterness and fragrant citrus hop flavors.

We’ve put a lot of time into planning for these cans, with our fans in mind, to ensure that they were perfect,” says Jeremy Wicks, Director of Sales and Marketing. “There is so much outdoor activity that happens during the summertime in the Midwest, whether it be at the lake, river, or pool.  We wanted to offer people a way to take Mother’s with them anywhere their summer activities take them, and cans are the best way to accomplish that.”

The brewery says more cans are on the way, with decisions and timeline to be made in the near future. Look for six packs of both Towhead and Lil’ Helper everywhere that Mother’s Brewing Company distributes.

Current distribution: Springfield, Kansas City, Columbia, Cape Girardeau, Rolla, and Sedalia, as well as Kansas City, KS. and Northwestern AR including Fayetteville, Eureka Springs, Bentonville, and Ft. Smith.

New Cans from Martin House Brewing

Martin House Brewing (Fort Worth, TX) has released two new cans this week – River House Saison, and Pretzel Stout

Pretzel Stout: Made with a large quantity of sourdough pretzels, this new spin on a traditional stout is as black as oil with a gradually evolving roasty and salty malt flavor. It’s almost like you are drinking a pretzel.

River House Saison: Floral, citrus, spicy notes complimenting a crisp, very dry, almost champagne-like mouth feel. It’s the perfect session beer delivering tons of flavor in a very “light” beer.

Cigar City’s Putting Sugar Plums in Cans

Cigar City Brewing’s (Tampa, FL) Sugar Plum Winter Porter look to make a can appearance this year. The once a year porter has been available in the past in 750ml bottles. It’s a bit of a complex porter as well, as you can see from the list of ingredients below.

A rich English-style Porter forms the stage for holiday flavors which dance a festive ballet highlighted by pirouetting leaps of winter-inspired spices. Cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, rose hips, and chamomile compliment the subtle chocolate and light coffee notes of the malt and the addition of roasted carob and chicory complete the performance. Brewed once a year to celebrate the season…

Look: First Cans from Lonerider Brewing

Lonerider Brewing (Raleigh, NC) has ditched their bottling line completely in lieu of cans. It’s a bold, and not to common move for a brewery to go all cans after bottling for years.

A mobile canning line is helping the brewery get the first cans of Shotgun Betty Hefeweizen and Sweet Josie Brown Ale.

Above, one of the first Lonerider cans off the line.

Cans will ship to North Carolina first. The brewery hops to have cans in the rest of their distribution markets by late July.
