Beer Street Journal Video: Meet Jackalope Brewing (Nashville, TN)

Bailey Spaulding and Robyn Virball met in a Scotland while studying abroad in 2002. Less than a decade later, they, along with Steve Wright had opened their own craft brewery. Jackalope Brewing Company is nestled in “The Gultch” area of Nashville, Tennessee. The success of the brand has recently lead to the need to expand.

New 60 barrel (1,860 gallons) fermenters were just put into place, expanding the brewery’s capacity 3 fold. In addition to more beer, the brewery plans to package in cans this summer.

As funny as this label is – the U.S. government doesn’t feel the same way. Unicorns and rainbows are apparently appealing to underage drinking.

Whether or not you feel the same way – I guess rules are rules. Look for Overrated West Coast IPA on the horizon from Surly.
