Red Brick Wee Heavy Kicks Off Brick Mason In 2012

Red Brick Wee Heavy AleRed Brick Brewing is expanding their Brick Mason Series in 2012.   2011 saw the release of 16th Anniversary, Double IPA, Smoked Vanilla Gorilla, and Old Stock Ale.  Wee Heavy kicks things off in 2012.  This scotch ale promises to be sweet & malty, with just a light touch of hops.

Red Brick Expanding Brick Mason Series In 2012

Red Brick Brewing (Atlanta, GA) is shipping Old Ale, the last release in the series in 2011.  In 2012, the brewery expands the series with new releases.

Wee Heavy – New beer, arriving in February, 2011. (200 barrels)
2XIPA – Returns in April (300 barrels)
17th Anniversary – Barrel aged beer, to be brewed in December, ’11. (200 barrels)
Brick Maison Saison – New saison, arriving in June (300 barrels)
Vanilla Gorilla – Oak Aged, September (250 barrels)
Stock Ale – Barrel Aged, arriving in November (2oo barrels)
Pfferreneusse Porter -Named after a cookie. December, 2012 (1oo barrels)

Expect Dog Daze Pale in June and July (500 barrels)  and Laughing Skull (1200 barrels) in September-October.

Red Brick’s Old Stock About To Ship

The 4th and final release for 2011 in Red Brick’s Brick Mason series is now officially on the pallet and about to ship.  Releasing within the week.

Old Stock Ale is and old ale aged in bourbon.  Availability: 12oz bottles, draft. 1 time release.

Brick Mason Release #2, Hoppy.

The first IPA offering bottled by Red Brick Brewing has hit shelves.  Double IPA is the second edition in the brewery’s new Brick Mason Series.  Double IPA is a limited release imperial IPA mean to leave an impression on your taste buds.

Style: Imperial IPA

Hops: Apollo, Bravo, Columbus, Centennial, Cascade

Taste Expectations: Big on hops – citrus & piney.  This beer finds a nice balance between aggressive hops, malts & bitterness.

Availability: 12oz/4pks. Draft. #2 in limited release series.

Red Brick’s First Distributed IPA

The Atlanta scene is about to have another IPA to drink. The 2nd release in Red Brick Brewing’s new Brick Mason Series is a Double IPA. The brewery has been experimenting with IPAs (Zingo Pop for instance) for quite sometime and people have been starting to wonder when they were going to take the plunge.

The test batches of this Imperial IPA finished at 90 IBUs. Edition #3 in the Brick Mason series will be a Smoked Vanilla Bean Porter, & #4 an Old Ale.

Red Brick’s “Brick Mason” Series Details

Red Brick Brewing, Atlanta’s oldest brewery is releasing a new series throughout 2011 dubbed “Brick Mason” series.  There will be 4 editions in the series in 12oz/4 pks.  Here is your tentative schedule:

16th Anniversary – Barrel Aged Brown Ale, 7% ABV.  The follow up to last year’s very popular 15.  16th Anni is Red Brick Brown aged 6 months in Jack Daniels barrels.  First edition of the series, due out end of February – Early March.

Double IPA – Imperial IPA.  Red Brick has been experimenting with IPAs for a while.  In 2011 it seems they will be making the jump.  Details to follow.  90 IBU’s from test batches.

Smoked Barrel Aged Porter – Porter Aged in bourbon barrels.  Vanilla beans specially smoked by Fox Brothers BBQ in Atlanta.  Breiss Cherrywood smoked malt.  Expect smoke, Chocolate, vanilla, bourbon flavors.  Edition 3.

Old Ale – Blend of aged & fresh beer.  Will be a malt forward offering.  Spices added.  A German style lager beer with a twist. 8%  target abv.  Edition #4.

COMING SOON: Red Brick 16th Anniversary

A follow up to last years popular 15th Anniversary by Red Brick Brewing (Atlanta, GA) is 16th Anniversary Ale.  This year’s edition boasts a few changes.

16th is Red Brick’s Brown Ale (A double brown as they call it) aged 6 months in Jack Daniels bourbon barrels.  (15th was 13 mos. in Pappy).  Also, 16th Anniversary won’t be in 22 oz bombers but 12oz/4 pks.  The production is slightly higher in 2011.

Another interesting note, 16th Anniversary is the first of 4 beers in Red Brick’s new “Brick Mason” series.  (Post to follow)

Arrival: Late February – Early March, 2011.
