The 2nd annual Suwanee American Craft Beer Festival is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 31st, 2012. Join us for a great afternoon of sampling over 120 beers, enjoying live music from local artists and eating great food at beautiful Town Center Park in the heart of Suwanee, Georgia.
A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to KINGDOM KIDS. Music starts at noon and runs until 5:00. Ages 21+ to drink and attend.
For just $35 advance purchase and $45 at the door, you’ll get a tasting glass and an awesome afternoon of beer tasting. See you there! For the safety of everyone at the festival, no infants, children, strollers, or pets will be permitted. Please plan accordingly.

Finch’s Beer Company (Chicago, IL) will be expanding to Georgia in the coming weeks. The was founded by Benjamin Finch, his father Paul, and former Flossmoor Station assistant brewer, Richard Grant. The Finch’s set up shop in a 5,000 square foot space in Chicago right off the Blue Line and began brewing last year. Their first two releases were Golden Wing Blonde Ale and Cut Throat Pale Ale. They only put their brews in kegs and cans, no bottles.
The first two offerings in the state will be Cut Throat and Golden Wing.
Other Finch beers include Threadless IPA, and Secret Stash Stout (coming soon). In with the addition of Georgia, Finch’s is also available in IL, IN, WI, VA, Wash D.C., and CT. They will be distributed through United.

Bartenders were dropped 2 per round due to “pour fouls” like: overflowing pour, excessive bubbles, too much head, not enough, or getting taps caught in the pour. Two expert judges scrutinized each pint, eliminating those little screw ups that keep that Guinness pint from looking its best. Hi five to everyone moving slow after a night of Guinness & car bombs.
Competitors included: Tilted Kilt, Pub 71, Donovan’s, Ri Ra, Taco Mac, The Fred Bar, Cheeky, Limerick Junction, Olde Town Tavern, Meehan’s, Old Blind Dog, Fado, Wild Wing, Padriac’s, The Nook, Stout, Buckhead Saloon, Tap, & more… The 2012 winner? Ri Ra! Below are pics from the event.

ATLANTA (Feb. 24, 2012) — SweetWater Brewery once again gears up for its 3rd annual Brew Your Cask Off festival hosted at the brewery Saturday, March 10 from 6-10 p.m. The amped up cask ale festival will play host to the sampling of more than 100 unique, and creatively named cask ales. Each guest brewer is paired with one of SweetWater’s brewers and asked to select from a plethora of ingredients to create their own one-of-a-kind cask to be presented and tasted at the festival. Entered casks will be sampled and ranked by a handpicked group of judges from the Atlanta scene, along with a vote for the People’s Choice Award from festival guests. Winners will be announced that evening at the festival. The judges’ top three casks, along with the People’s Choice cask, will have their brews recreated and served at the SweetWater 420 Fest, April 20-22 in Candler Park.
In addition to the specially-created cask ales, festival guests will have the opportunity to enjoy SweetWater’s award-winning lineup of lip smackin’ brews and eats from several renowned Atlanta food vendors. The festival will also include live music from Betsy Franck & The Bareknuckle Band and tours of the brewery. Brew Your Cask Off is a Happy Ending Productions event sponsored by Hop City Craft Beer & Wine, The Midway Pub, United Distributors, Creative Loafing, The Country Malt Group, Hop Union, Draft Magazine, All About Beer Magazine, Owens-Illinois Inc.
Festival event space has nearly doubled this year and will remain tented in front of the new brewery making this event rain or shine. Tickets are $35 per guest for online pre-sale and $40 per guest at the door. All tickets include unlimited cask samples and a souvenir tasting glass.
