Jekyll ‘Merican Amber Joins Lineup

Jekyll Brewing (Alpharetta, GA) just launched two beers over the weekend – Southern Session Ale (Blonde Ale, 4.8%) and ‘Merican Amber Ale. These editions drive the young brewery’s offerings to five.

Amber is meant to be a nice bridge between the hoppiness of Hop Dang Diggity, and the malt bomb of Cooter Brown. Flavor is earthy with light spice, floral  hops and a nice caramel backbone.

Draft only offering currently. Brewery is looking to package by the end of the year in cans.

Cigar City Adds Tocabaga to Cans

Cigar City Brewing (Tampa, FL) announced they will be adding to their line up of canned beer this week. Tocobaga Red Ale will be the first as it was originally anticipated to be launched with the first batch of Cigar City cans.

“The Tocobaga lived off the bounty of Tampa Bay hundreds of years before the arrival of the Spanish in the 1500’s. They were potters, tool makers and the only Florida natives to grow maize. The large platform mounds they built are still with us today, with one of the largest found near Old Tampa Bay in Safety Harbor, Florida. Climb to the top, and with a little imagination, you can see Tampa Bay as they did.”
