Sierra Nevada Creates Ovila Abbey Site

A placeholder website for Sierra Nevada Brewing’s newest brewing venture – Ovila Abbey Ales.

The Ovila series is a new venture by Sierra Nevada.  They will be collaborating with Cistercian Abbey of New Clairvaux in Vina, California.  The series will feature 3 Belgian Abbey style ales, first to be released in March of 2011.  Proceeds from the sales will benefit the monks of the Abbey of New Clairvaux.  The monks of the abbey are building a “12th century, early-gothic Cistercian chapter house” on site in Vina.

The monks of the Cistercian Abbey of New Clairvaux of Strict Observance (O.C.S.O.Ordo Cisterciensis Strictioris Observantiae), or Trappists.
