Beer Camp #81 created Carolina Dreamin’, a red wheatwine. It is a cousin to the better known barleywine, but brewed with wheat(50%). This big, rich ale has a mild caramel flavor and bready character from the wheat malt with notes of grapefruit and peach from a blend of Galaxy and Nelson Saivin hops, which share the fruity characteristics of a chardonnay. ABV: 9.0% —– IBU: 41
