Reservation tickets for Scratch Brewing Black Trumpet, the brewery’s Biere de Mars beer, are now available. The beer is brewed with farm foraged black trumpet mushrooms.
Biere de Mars literally translates into “March Beer” in English. It is is a 400 year old beer style, that died out of the brewing industry in the mid-1900’s. Bier de Mars is traditionally a low alcohol version of Belgian lambic. Fairly similar to faro beer, without the sweetness (the most widely available is Lindeman’s Faro). Scratch describes this release as a French farmhouse-style beer.
The black trumpet mushrooms were harvest in the woods around the brewery.
