No Cell Service? Blame Your Beer Fridge

Australian cellphone provider Telstra reports that a man’s beer fridge in his garage interfered with their mobile network causing areas of no service in several neighborhoods. The wavelength of cellular signal can only penetrate certain substances and can easily be interfered with by other radio frequencies. The motor in this man’s beer fridge caused a disturbance due to an electric spark that evidently created just enough radio frequency noise to cause service blackouts. Hopefully this can become a regular excuse as to why I’m not answering my phone at beer o’clock.
