The Duquesne Brewing Company will launch a special beer in July, honoring late Penn State football coach, Joe Paterno.
Duquesne Lager, part of the brewery’s Paterno Legacy Series, is a Vienna-style lager and will be available in 12 ounce cans. Duquesne Lager will be packaged at Duquesne’s brewery in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. Joe Paterno and his wife were married in Latrobe. Sue Paterno still resides there.
According to Maria Dudash of Duquesne Brewery, the beer will debut at during an art festival in July in State College, Pennsylvania. A portion of the proceeds will go to charities the Paterno family supports.
Joe Paterno is the second winningist coach overall with 409 wins over 45 years. He lost a battle with lung cancer on January 22, 2012.
