The 5th release in Shmaltz Brewing’s Barrel Release will be bottled in September. Genesis 15:15 celebrates 15 years of Shmaltz Brewing with a Barrel Aged Harvest Barleywine aged in Sazerac Rye Barrels. The beer will have grape, fig and pomegranate juice & dates added to the brew. In true Shmaltz form, Jeremy Cowan toasts 15 years. (I took the time to type it out, give it a read would ya? )

15 Years and the bombastic beers blossom bolder than ever. The shtick ages so beautifully as well – some favorites from the Shmaltz vault: GRAPES: “No great thing is created suddenly, any more than a bunch of grapes or a fig.” – Epiclitus. POMEGRANATES: In Medieval images of a unicorn hung, the capture beast bleeds from the wounds of pomegranate seeds dripping blood red juices on his milk white body. Wile and uncontrollable by nature, unicorns could be tamed only by virgins. Once tamed, the unicorn was chained to a pomegranate tree. DATES: Song of Solomon 7:6: “How beautiful and how delightful you are, my Love, with all your charms! Your stature is like a date palm tree, I will climb the tree and take hold of its stalks.” Psalm 92:12: “The righteous shall flourish like the Date plan.” Arab proverb: It is good to know the truth, but it is better to speak of pam trees. Genesis Chapter 15 promises many battles but also scared covenants. Verse 15: “You, Abrahams shall be gathered into the arms of your people at a ripe old age.” To the torrents and the trials, the punchlines and the pleasures.
