Film to Feature Brooklyn’s Brewing History

At one point Brooklyn, yes Brooklyn, was the beer capital of the world. But, in the 1970’s Brooklyn’s once thriving beer industry came to a crashing halt from 90 breweries to none citing rising crime and decay as responsible for the decline. Now, the borough is making a slow but steady comeback in regards to more than just beer.

In order to tell the story of a beer history at risk of being forgotten, 3 people have started filming a 50 minute documentary entitled Brewed in Brooklyn, and have begun a Kickstarter campaign to accompany it. Those behind the project have reassured that with or without the backing the show will go on, but with the funding the undertaking will become quite easier. To make a contribution or to learn more about the project, please visit their Kickstarter page here.
