Wicked Weed Brettaberry returns with hot new artwork

Wicked Weed Brettaberry is returning to shelves once again. This year it is sporting some sexy new artwork.

A ton of fruit (literally and figuratively) goes into making Wicked Weed Brettaberry. The Brettanomyces heavy beer has around one half pound per gallon of strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and honey, taking fruit to the next level.

A half pound per gallon of strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries are packed into this effervescent Brettanomyces ale. These berries combine with honey to create the bursting fruit flavor of a freshly baked berry pie. Blended with a light portion of our golden sour and aged in French oak foeders, Brettaberry then bottle conditions until ripe for the picking.

Wicked Weed Brettaberry is a 500 milliliter bottle offering, seasonally.

Style: American Wild Ale (w/ Blackberries, Blueberries, Strawberries, HoneyOak Aged.)

SweetWater Hash Brown returns to seasonal lineup

SweetWater Hash Brown has returned to the Atlanta, Georgia brewery’s lineup this week.

Those of you familiar with SweetWater’s hoppy lineup, will know this beer started with Dank Tank release Johnny Hash. That imperial IPA made use of Citra hop hash (the potent dust that is left behind after hops are pelletized). Johnny Hash was so well received, SweetWater created their own blend of hash, and now sell it year round as SweetWater Hop Hash (just ask Diggs.)

Why stop there? SweetWater Hash Brown is here to help you transition to cooler weather. Building off a familiar brown ale recipe, SweetWater added malts that compliment the bold hop hash flavor. The result is a very hoppy brown ale, aka India brown ale, that smashes two styles together to get a sum greater than its parts.

Oh me oh my-. What did we do? We fired up the skillet to 420 degrees, tossed in a sizzling concoction of 2-Row, Wheat, Pale Chocolate, Cara-Brown, and Midnight Wheat, then added in a hefty dose of hop hash and other dank-ish-ish-ish fixins to scatter, smother, and cover this baby all the way. Resiny, citrusy hops spice up the rich chocolate and caramel notes the malt brought to the mix, making this platter slide down the counter at 60 IBU’s.

SweetWater Hash Brown is now shipping 12oz cans, bottles and draft. Scattered, smothered, and covered indeed.

Style: India Brown Ale
Availability: 12oz Cans, 12oz Bottles, Draft. Seasonal Release.
Latest Release: Early August, 2016

6.2% ABV

Short’s Strawberry Short’s Cake is alcoholic dessert

Short’s Strawberry Short’s Cake is back for Summer 2016.

The base beer for this perennial favorite a golden ale, brewed with fresh strawberries and milk sugar. (That’s lactose for those science-y folks). The end result is a creamy dessert beer that smells and tastes just as it’s billed.

The flavors of shortcake and fresh strawberries transform this beer into rose-colored party nectar that is pleasingly sweet with hints of cream. Biscuit flavors and aromas arise from the use of large amounts of Victory malt.

Summer of 2016 is when we finally got to try this beer for the first time. The strawberries are fresh, the beer is smooth (thanks to the milk sugar), and really reminds us of a a dessert at a hot summer barbecue. So much so, there was a point where you almost want to chew it. Trust us, drinking it is easier.

Short’s Strawberry Short’s Cake is a 12 ounce bottle and draft offering. Seasonally.

Style: Fruit Beer (w/ Strawberries)
Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft. Summer Seasonal.
Latest Return: Late June, 2016
