Pontoon Brewing “Triples” The Floor is Lava recipe

Milkshake IPA gone big. Pontoon Brewing Triple The Floor is Lava is a boozy follow-up to last year’s popular release.

The Floor is Lava, a milkshake IPA brewed with guava, strawberries, kiwi, and lactose, debuted last summer. The creamy IPA was big on fruit as well as fruity hops.

For the brewery’s anniversary party this week, Pontoon took the original recipe and “imperialized” the base IPA and doubled tripled the amount of fruit, creating Triple The Floor is Lava.

Pontoon Triple The Floor is Lava is available at the brewery in Sandy Springs, Georgia in 16-ounce cans.

New Holland Dragon’s Milk White, a “lighter” barrel-aged stout debuts in cans

New Holland Dragon’s Milk White debuts year-round in the coming weeks. 

The Holland, Michigan based brewery had Dragon’s Milk, a barrel-aged imperial stout, for many years now. It is will one of the most popular year-round barrel-aged stouts in America. Over the past few years, we’ve seen variants of Dragon’s Milk – Chocolate Orange, Banana Coconut, S’mores & more.

After a few days of social media teasing, we now know there is a second Dragon’s Milk to be found year-round – Dragon’s Milk White.

We equate a “white stout” to something like Crystal Pepsi. If you close your eyes, it kind of tastes like Pepsi, or in this case, a stout, but looks nothing like it in color. This stout pours a golden color instead of something resembling motor oil. New Holland states Dragon’s Milk White is “smooth and creamy”, with “flavors of oak, vanilla, cocoa and a hint of bourbon”.

If this wasn’t something completely new, this is the first time you’ve seen any Dragon’s Milk in a 12-ounce can.

Expect to see New Holland Dragon’s Milk White in 12-ounce cans and draft year-round this year.

SweetWater will debut Peach Love & Happiness Berliner at their 22nd bash

SweetWater Peach Love & Happiness debuts as a spring seasonal February 16th.

Ahead of warmer weather, and just in time for the Atlanta based brewery’s 22nd Anniversary Party, comes SweetWater Peach Love & Happiness. This new Berliner Weisse is dosed with peach puree.

…Peach, Love, and Happiness brings color to spring with ripe local peaches in this golden effervescent and tastily tart Berliner Weisse.

Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, plus Anders Osborne and Samantha Fish all headline their 22nd birthday bash, where the first taste of Peach Love & Happiness, as well as SweetWater’s 22nd Anniversary beer release, can be found.

Cigar City launches their first mixed 12-pack, which includes new IPA

Tampa, Florida’s Cigar City Brewing has launched their first mixed 12-pack of cans this week, which includes a new, exclusive Space Pope IPA.

The brewery kicked off their 12-pack lineup with their flagship Jai Alai IPA. According to Cigar City, Jai Alai is the second best selling craft six pack nationwide.

This new mixed pack will include Jai Alai, Guayabera Citra Pale Ale, and Florida Cracker White Ale, along with the new Space Pope IPA. This new release is brewed with Mosaic, Citra, Hallertauer Blanc, and Galaxy hops. Expect Space Pope IPA to make sporadic draft appearances this year, but will remain a taproom and mixed pack only release, nationally.

The Cigar City Mixed 12-Pack will be available in the brewery’s full distribution by mid-2019. No estimated retail price was provided.

The “Incognito” hop process creates New Belgium Liquid Paradise IPA

New Belgium Liquid Paradise IPA kicks off a new run of Voodoo Ranger Rotating India Pale Ales in 2019. 

Expect three different hoppy beers throughout the. year, starting with New Belgium Liquid Paradise IPA. This tropical flavor heavy IPA uses Mosaic hops that have undergone the “incognito” process. This new proprietary technique for hop processing results in a bolder hop flavor in your finished beer. Very few brewers have used hops from the Incognito method in brewing to date.

“While Mosaic hops are nothing new, the Incognito process efficiently extracts the aromatic lupulin from the plant material to offer new layers of flavor and aroma for us to play with.” – Ross Koenigs, Research and Development Brewer at New Belgium

Nugget, Azacca, and Munich hops were also added to round out the Mosaic Incognito profile. Expect “bursts of guava, mango, grapefruit and white grape” in this medium-bodied beer.

Founders Blushing Monk returns after multi-year hiatus

Founders  Blushing Monk makes a return to the brewery’s Limited Release Series in 2019. 

Back by popular demand Blushing Monk, considered the older, boozier sibling to raspberry heavy Rubaeus is the first release in the brewery’s Limited Series in 2019. The fruit beer is fermented with a Belgian yeast strain on a “abundance” of raspberries.

Fruit-forward ferment aromas and spice esters combine with an abundance of raspberries for a tart and luscious, raspberry-jam character.

Founders Blushing Monk will be available nationwide in both 750-milliliter bottles, new 12-ounce bottles and draft starting January 4th.
