Heady Topper Hits the Emmys [PICS]

John Kimmich, founder of Vermont’s The Alchemist makes one beer right now. It’s a damn good one too. Heady Topper.

Looks like Heady made an Emmy appearance on Sunday too. (According to the brewery that is.) At least in the hospitality suite. To our knowledge it wasn’t nominated for any awards, other then “Best Starring Role of an Imperial IPA in a Can.”

I’m pretty sure Heady Topper is a great way to schmooze celebrities.

No More Tap Water. It’s All Beer [VIDEO]

Are these the best friends you could ever have? These guys literally went under his house and replaced the water flow with keg beer. This may be the most genius and epic beer prank of all time.

Update: Apparently this was a stunt by beer brand Tui. However, none of the individuals got paid for it. Other than well, beer of course.

French beer drinker Brandon Evans is spending his month of September avoiding water. That is, unless it’s in beer. Namely Brewdog’s beer.

Now before you starting wondering if he has expired by now he hasn’t. Brandon has been using Brewdog’s Nanny State, a .5% ABV beer. (That’s near beer, and it was legal during American prohibition.) Everything that requires water, from brushing his teeth to cooking, Brandon is going to use Nanny State.

By our estimates, Brandon is 11 days into his adventure. You can check in on him via Instagram and Facebook.

Beer You Can Spread on Toast

I’m sitting here thinking of all the ways you can use beer besides drinking it. You can cook with it, shampoo your hair with it, make ice cream with it.. Now, you can spread it on toast.

Omid Dark Ale Spreadable Beer is basically alcoholic Nutella. A partnership between an Italian chocolate maker and brewer makes this product possible. I’m sure you’re wondering how you buy it. It isn’t shipped to the United States through a distributor. However, Selfridges&Co will ship the beer spread internationally. Expect to pay around $60 to be the first beer nerd with it.

Is this the perfect compliment to Founder’s Breakfast Stout. I’ve taken the name literally for years.

Goose Island Visits Killer Mike [VIDEO]

Last week was Goose Island’s Migration Week in Atlanta. The week long GI celebration brings some crazy rare beer to each city (Bourbon County anyone) along with brewers and members of the team. You’ll see some of the beer drool below.

Of all the bars and restaurants the group hit during the week, one stop was a little different. Rapper Killer Mike’s barber shop. First off, if you don’t know his rap talents, you most assuredly have heard him on OutKast’s “The Whole World” track. Plus, over the summer Killer Mike and El-P did a collaboration with Goose Island called Run the Jewels. That beer debuted at the Pitchfork Music Festival.

Killer Mike came to Chicago, brewed beer and hung out. It was time to return the favor. With beer of course.
