Wild Heaven Craft Beers (Decatur, Georgia) is set to release their 5th beer on February 1st. Let There Be Light is the first “sessionable” beer by the brewery, clocking in at only 4.7% ABV. Rethink your approach to light beers, because this “Light” beer is full of flavor. Eric Johnson brewed Let There Be Light with Nelson Sauvin and Sorachi Ace hops, barley, wheat, and orange peel. The beer is complex and light bodied, without a lot of alcohol to slow down your drinking session.
“Wild Heaven is always about flavor first and we noticed that people assume you can only get big flavors from big beers.” says Wild Heaven President Nick Purdy. “We challenged ourselves to create a beer that’s really interesting, complex and flavorful, but would fit those occasions that a more sessionable beer fits the bill. With Let There Be Light, an obviously tongue-in-cheek name, we think we’ve done it.”
Beginning tomorrow, Wild Heaven teams up with select Taco Mac locations around Georgia to offer an exclusive and limited sneak peek of Let There Be Light. It will be featured as February’s “Beer of The Month” at the following Georgia Taco Mac locations: Atlanta Metropolis (Peachtree St.), Virginia-Highland, Suwanee, Alpharetta, Cumming, Perimeter, Buford, Kennesaw, Newnan, Roswell Crabapple and Marietta – Dallas Highway.
Each Thursday night during February is “Pint Night” at Taco Mac, offering Wild Heaven fans a chance to get a free Wild Heaven pint glass with their order of Let There Be Light.
“Light” joins, Eschaton, Ode To Mercy, Invocation, and Special Winter Ale.

Wild Heaven will be releasing Ode To Mercy Special Winter Ale again in November. Eric Johnson took Ode To Mercy, and added bourbon soaked oak chips. The result is a winter beer with oak, vanilla, coffee, with a semi sweet finish. The flavor definitely gets more complex as it warms.
Style: American Brown Ale (bourbon oak chips)
Availability: Draft only.
8.2% ABV
Also, more Eschaton, their new wine oak Quad arrive in November also. Expect 12oz bottles beginning of 2012.
Wild Heaven just crossed the 1 year mark. That calls for a beer celebration. Today the brewery shipped Eschaton, their 4th release since launch.
First lets tackle the name – Eschaton. Translated from Greek it means “End Of Time.” Note the Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse on the label. Artist Adam Houston based it on a pencil sketch by German artist Albrecht Dürer. The beer is a Belgian quadrupel aged on pinot noir oak chips. No candi sugar of any kind was used in the brew. Believe me, you want this one. Wild Heaven is truly giving you something to geek out about. This is just a glimpse at great things to come from them.
Draft will be available in Georgia by the end of the week. 12oz bottles by the end of the year.
In other Wild Heaven news, the brewery is working on a lower ABV beer due out in the spring, alongside prepping for their brewery build in Decatur, Georgia.

Invocation – Belgian Golden Ale, 8.5%. Belgian aromatic malts add hints of dried fruit, while generous Noble and West Coast hops deliver an earthy spiciness. It finishes semi-dry with lingering tropical fruits and spicy notes from Belgian yeast.
Ode To Mercy – Imperial Brown Ale, 8.2%. Overflows with bold flavors woven into a very balanced and approachable beer that finishes with creamy lingering hints of oak, coffee (specially blended by Athens, GA’s 1000 Faces), and roasted goodness. Bright citrus hops peek through from time to time, adding additional layers of complexity.
[Update 4/19] Bottles to arrive first week of May according to Nick Purdy
A few notes about Wild Heaven Craft Beers:
Wild Heaven will finally be bottling soon. Ode To Mercy and Invocation make their bottle debuts at the end of April. Early May at the la Bottles will launch in Georgia first, then Alabama shortly after. 12oz/4 pks.
Also, Wild Heaven is looking to be launching their 3rd beer soon – a quadrupel on red wine oak. I have had a few preview samples of this beer. Phenomenal! Starting next week, Wild Heaven will be doing test batches of the quad at Thomas Creek Brewing in Greenville, South Carolina before adding it to production.
Also, the brewery has leased a site in Decatur, Georgia in which to build. Fundraising will begin in late spring, building/renovation in the fall, completion by summer 2012. Investors are already contacting Wild Heaven.
