The Bruery OR XATA, a Horchata Inspired Seasonal

The Bruery (Placentia, CA) is just launched a new nationally distributed, seasonal release, OR XATA. The new offering is based on horchata, a Spanish/Latin American milky drink, made from crushed almonds or rice.

The Bruery OR XATA is a base blonde ale, brewed with rice, cinnamon, vanilla beans and lactose, to give the beer a creamy mouthfeel.

Horchata is a traditional, sweet, milky drink originating in Spain and Latin America that has become quite popular in Southern California, particularly with Mexican cuisine. Our take on the traditionally non-alcoholic drink is a blonde ale brewed with a heavy dosing of rice, cinnamon and fresh vanilla beans along with lactose for a litle extra creamy character. If you didn’t know better, you’d think it was carbonated horchata. The flavor is hard to describe, but for those who know it, you know you love it.

The Bruery OR XATA is available in 750ml bottles.

Style: Blonde Ale (w/ Cinnamon, Vanilla Beans, Lactose.)
Availability: 750ml Bottles.
Release: February, 2015

7.5% ABV

The Bruery So Happens It’s Tuesday Will Not Be Released

The Bruery (Placentia, CA) has an unforgettable imperial stout, Black Tuesday. This barrel aged beast in aged in bourbon, and clocks in around 18% ABV.  Black Tuesday big and bold, and sneaks up on you. Enter So Happens It’s Tuesday, a less “intense” edition of Black Tuesday. This edition is brewed in the spirit of Black Tuesday, but finishes at just 11.3%.

In 1929, America was devastated by a great stock market crash that led to The Great Depression. Our infamous Black Tuesday stout is named in honor of the largest trading day of that crash, which led to some very dark times for our country. “So Happens it’s Tuesday” is a slightly less intense incarnation of Black Tuesday, reminding us that there is always some good to be found within the bad. Things happen, life goes on, and this beer can be enjoyed in all of those moments.

The Bruery So Happens It’s Tuesday is in 750ml bottles, just like the rest of the brewery’s lineup. Available to The Reserve Society this December.

Style: Imperial Stout (Barrel Aged. Bourbon)
Availability: 750ml Bottles
Arrival: December, 2014

11.3% ABV

Update: 12/8. The Bruery has updated its members that the final beer does not meet their standards and will not be released.

As for So Happens It’s Tuesday, which was to be included with your membership, we unfortunately have to announce that it isn’t holding up to our standards.  We do enjoy this beer a lot and will make complimentary samples available for a short while at our Tasting Room beginning soon, but we don’t feel comfortable sending these out as initially intended.  We will automatically refund your credit card on file with the full value of this beer ($20+tax) before the end of December.  We apologize for this inconvenience.

The Bruery Roble Blanco Hits Reserve Society

The Bruery has revealed “Mystery Beer #1” to their Reserve Society members. Roble Blanco is on sale now, a beer that mimics a margarita.

Roble Blanco is a wheat beer aged in tequila barrels. The agave, combined with aging the beer with lime and salt, combines for a margarita (beer-rita) flavor.

Living in Southern California, we’re huge fans of both Mexican cuisine and, of course, Mexican cocktails. This is a tribute to our favorite blended fiesta beverage, the Margarita. We aged this wheat-based beer in Tequila barrels for an extended period of time, lending warmth and a roasted agave character. Coupled with a slight lime tartness and a classic, salty finish, this brew is a great approximation of the refreshing summer afternoon Margarita.

The Bruery Roble Blanco is offered in 750ml bottles.

Style: Wheat Ale (w/ Lime, Salt. Barrel Aged. Tequila.)
Availability: 750ml bottles, limited to Reserve Society members
Release: October, 2014. (First release)

15% ABV
