SweetWater Raises 42K For Chattahoochee River

Georgia’s Chattahoochee River contributes over 90% of the water that is in SweetWater Brewery’s beer. That’s a damn good reason to keep the river clean and pristine.  That’s where the brewery’s “Save Our Water” campaign comes in.

Since the inception of the program Continue Reading →

Beer Street Journal Video: SweetWater Releases New Crank Tank

SweetWater Brewing Company (Atlanta, GA) has released another round of Crank Tank, the beer benefitting Camp Twin Lakes. You didn’t see the beer last year, as the brewery expansion made it impossible to squeeze it in.

This year’s Crank is a new style for the brewery – a Munich-style Helles Lager. Nick and Mark kicked fermentation down to 11 degrees Celsius during the lagering process. This release is meant to be light, crisp, and a great post ride beer.

The brew ships this week across the state of Georgia. Also, famed Atlanta cover band Yacht Rock Revue and SweetWater have teamed up for a night of charity in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park. The event is October 6th. Grab your tickets now.

Style: Lager
Hops: Mt. Hood, Saaz
Malts: Carapils, Munich, Pilsner

5.8% ABV

Since the inception of the program seven years ago, the brewery has raised over a half a million dollars  for the cause. This year, thanks to fund raising efforts and proceeds from the Waterkeeper Hefeweizen, the brewery wrote a check to the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper for 42,000 dollars.

Below, a Beer Street Journal video from earlier this summer on the Waterkeeper beer, and conservation efforts.
