SweetWater Brewing Company (Atlanta, GA) pushed up the second release of their Whiplash White IPA this year. The idea is to bring a new seasonal onto the boat sooner rather than later.

That’s where SweetWater Spinnerbait Belgian Red comes into play. It’s no secret the brewery has been experimenting with Belgian-style beers over the years. Bringing one from their test repertoire as seasonal just makes sense.

The flash of this spinnerbait stimulates he senses with its sweet alty currents and deep red hues. Our BA reels with fruity esters and spicy notes from the. Ardennes yeast which wirl through the Belgian rock candy, casting the perfect presentation for the hops to set the hook on this big boy?

SweetWater Spinnerbait will be available in 12oz bottles, and draft. Important to note, this is a sneak preview. Final details about this lip ripper to follow.

SweetWater Heads to Mississippi

SweetWater Brewing Company (Atlanta, GA) will launch in the crooked letter state (aka The Magnolia State, aka The Hospitality State) this September.

The brewery cut the ribbon on their $19 million dollar expansion in 2012, starting with a 400 barrel brewhouse and added capacity. Since then, SweetWater has expanded their reach to across the southeast.

The brewery has inked a distribution deal with F&B Distributing covering Oxford; Mitchell Distributing covering Starkville; F.E.B. Distributing covering Gulfport and Biloxi; and Capital City Beverage covering Jackson and surrounding Central Mississippi.

SweetWater’s distribution now includes Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Louisiana, Virginia and D.C.

Ohio will see the lineup in September as well.

SweetWater Tacks on Massive Tanks [PICS]

SweetWater Brewing Company (Atlanta, GA) already has the largest fermentation tanks of any craft brewery in the state of Georgia. Towering over the brewery currently are 10, 1000 barrel fermentation tanks.  That’s 310,000 gallons of beer that can ferment at one time.

This week, the brewery tacked on two more of these 1000 barrel monsters this week for a total of 12, with more coming in August.

SweetWater is Georgia’s largest craft brewery, expanding distribution across the southeast after a $19 million dollar expansion. Next stop, is Ohio in September.

SweetWater Brewing Headed to Ohio

Back in April at SweetWater Brewing Company’s (Atlanta) 420 Fest, founder Freddy Bensch hinted at the brewery distributing to Ohio.

While SweetWater wants to remain pretty much a southeastern brewery (for now?), Bensch’s wife Jen is from the Buckeye State. (Remember Brown-eyed Buckeye from the Dank Tank Series?)

The brewery will be making a formal announcement to follow. Typically, SweetWater will stagger the the rollout across the state over time.

Distribution to start in September, 2014.

SweetWater Flows in Memphis

SweetWater Brewing Company (Atlanta, GA) officially taps in Memphis this week. The brewery has been making its way across Tennessee this year.

Launching in Elvis Presley’s home city is 420 Extra Pale, SweetWater IPA, SweetWater Blue, and the Tackle Box, featuring new Take Two Pils.

“We’ve had our hands full expanding the brewery while simultaneously launching our new can line and conditioning process,” said SweetWater Founder and Big Kahuna Freddy Bensch. “With that under our belts, we’re finally at a place where we feel we’ve ramped up production enough to move further West and bring Memphibians the brews they’ve been training for!”

The brewery signed a distribution deal with Budweiser of Memphis for distribution. Launch events run all week. SweetWater can now be found in Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Louisiana and Virginia.

Beer Street Journal Video: Inside SweetWater Take Two Pils

SweetWater Brewing Company (Atlanta, GA) has just launched a new year round offering, perfect for the summer heat – Take Two Pils.

The new pilsner is a rare lager in SweetWater’s mostly ale lineup. Take Two Pils starts with German hops Stryian Golding and Saaz, plus some American Mt. Hood hops to make the beer truly SweetWater. The Czech pilsner yeast strain is new to the brewhouse too.

Mark Medlin took some time with Beer Street Journal to run down the new release. Shipping now in 12oz bottles and draft in all of the brewery’s markets.

SweetWater Brewing Company (Atlanta, GA) has released their newest year round offering – Take Two Pils.

Brewed with the traditional spicy pilsner “Noble Hop” Saaz, SweetWater added a twist throwing in Styrian Golding hops, delivering earthy, spicy aromas and flavors, as well as American Mt. Hood hops to add clean, flowery notes. Kicking up the adventure, brewers then dry hopped the beer with all three hop varieties for SweetWater’s signature style.

The German-style pilsner debuts first in the Tacklebox mixed pack, then six packs and draft later this month.
