Start Drooling Over Stillwater’s Barrel Aged Existent

Start Drooling Over Stillwater's Barrel Aged Existent

What could make Stillwater Artisanal Ales “Existent” any better? Bourbon barrels.  Stillwater has taken this dark saison and aged in in bourbon for your drinking pleasure.  There are are few saisons as philosophically complex at Existent; even fewer barrel aged.
About Existent:

Existent represents the philosophy behind Stillwater Artisanal. We strive to define ourselves through our passion and sincerity while accepting that not all aspects of life are readily explainable. To manifest this ideology we present an ale of intrigue. Deep & dark though deceptively dry, braced by a firm yet smooth bitterness and accented with an earthy hop and mild roast aroma. This is an ale for you to define..

Style: Saison (barrel aged)
Availability: 11.2oz bottles
Arrival:August 2011. Limited to 44 cases. Potential in areas: WA, OR, CA, AZ, MO, IL, WI, OH, GA, FL, SC, NC, VA, PA, DC, MD, NY, CT, RI, MA, VT, ME

Stillwater’s 4th Import

Personal opinion. Stillwater Artisanal Ales is a big up and comer. Especially when it comes to Belgian style ale in the United States, and there isn’t even a physical brewery yet.  The 4th beer in Stillwater’s import series arrives this summer.  The beer was brewed on location at Huisbrouwerij Sint Canarus in Deinze-Gottem, Belgium just like Saison Darkly.  The brewer has 3 dark ales and 1 tripel in their lineup.  Quoting Brian Stillwater about Rule Of Thirds:
Brewed at Sint Canarus and is a hoppy triple. 3 fermentables, 3 hops, 3 yeasts
Short & sweet & to the point.

Style: Tripel

Arrival: Summer, 2011

It’s my pleasure to present a collaboration with The Brewers Art.  A Baltimore institution that helped to pioneer the Belgian beer movement in the States.  Brewed with a combination of Spelt & Rye, accented with a blend of Heather, Honeysuckle and Hyssop.  The result is a rustic farmhouse ale displaying earthy tones & floral characteristics while maintaining intricate balance.
