Oskar Blues is now available in all 50 states

Oskar Blues is now available in all 50 states. The brewery recently tacked on the state of Montana.

The brewery signed a distribution deal with Summit Beverage Company in the Missoula and Butte markets, and Bronken’s Distributing in the Bozeman market.

That wraps up all 50.

“When I first left my home state of Alabama, I was dead set on being a fly fishing guide in Wise River Montana. My wife and I never made it past Lyons, CO as the vibe of the surrounding mountains grabbed us and we put down roots. A few years later we started Oskar Blues.” said Dale Katechis, soul-founder. “Now almost 20 years later, we’re completing our trip to Montana bringing our journey full circle.

Additionally, the brewery is expanding distribution of their flagship beer Dale’s Pale Ale to Australia.

This year, Oskar Blues acquired Tampa, Florida’s Cigar City Brewing, and is now shipping a new beer – BEERITO Mexican Lager.

Oskar Blues The Wolf and The Lamb, a NOLA collaboration

Oskar Blues The Wolf and the Lamb, a new collaboration with NOLA Brewing Company, launches in the Louisiana market this week.

The team created a “double” pilsner-style beer, brewed with pilsner malt, and Czech Agnes and Styrian Wolf hops.

Crisp and spicy aromas dotted with floral, sage-like undertones of berries, pineapple, and citrus. A slightly bready medium bodied lager flavor continues the European hop onPilsslaught with more herbal and spicy fruity character.

The artwork for Oskar Blues The Wolf and the Lamb is a custom piece created in the spirit of the New Orleans Jazz Fest by legendary artist J Pierrel.

This partnership marks Oskar Blues one-year anniversary in the Louisiana market. Available in 12 ounce cans in Colorado as well.

Oskar Blues adds Mississippi, Utah

Oskar Blues Brewery (Longmont, CO/Brevard, NC) has recently added Mississippi and Utah to their distribution footprints. These state additions push the brewery very close to all 50 state distribution.

In Mississippi, Oskar Blues has partnered with Clark Beverage Group, Inc., Stokes Distributing Company, Capital City Beverage Company and FEB Distributing, Inc. Expect the brewery’s 12 and 19.2 ounce cans in November/December.

M&M Distributing (part of the Admiral Beverage) will bring Oskar Blues to Utah in December and January, 2016. Oskar Blues offerings will limited and only in cans to start in the state as their portfolio exceeds 4% ABV. (State laws prohibit “high” alcohol beer sales.)

In 2016, Oskar Blues will complete it’s United States distribution conquest with North Dakota, South Dakota, Oklahoma, and Montana.

Oskar Blues Hoptub Bath Machine Collaboration with Alabama Breweries Releases

Oskar Blues Hoptub Bath Machine, a new collaboration with four Alabama breweries, releases in early November.

Oskar Blues (North Carolina brewery)teamed up, Straight to Ale, Good People, Cahaba Brewing, and Fairhope Brewing Company, to create the Hoptub Bath Machine brew. The new beer flavor is described as having “pear and lemon flavors combined with edgy peppercorn spice creates a light and crisp taste on the tongue.”

Oskar Blues Hoptub Bath Machine is a part of the Hangout Oyster Cook-Off and Craft Beer Weekend festival during the first week of November which features 21 breweries and over 60 beers to try. The Craft Beer Festival kicks off Friday, November 6, with a performance by Black Jacket Symphony playing Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon.”

“It’s great to dig in with the crew that is driving the craft beer scene back home in Alabama,” said Dale Katechis, soul founder of Oskar Blues Brewery.

Oskar Blues Hoptub Bath Machine will be available for limited time in 6-packs prior to the festival in select Alabama and Florida markets, and will be officially released to the public at the Hangout Oyster Cook-Off and Craft Beer Festival.

Oskar Blues Launches Coffee Roasting Company

Oskar Blues (Longmont, CO) announced the launch of Hotbox Roasters, a coffee roasting company this week. The new business will offer fresh roasted premium beans in 32oz “crowlers”.

Hotbox Roasters is offering three different fair-trade roasts from Kenya, Boliva, and Indonesia. Additionally, they plan on working with brewers around the United States to provide custom-roasted beans for craft brews.

“Canning the coffee seals in the flavor more effectively than in a bag, not only when we produce it, but also when you reseal it at home,” explains Chief Coffee Dude and Head Roaster Derek Palmer. “If you’re going to be fair-trade, you should also be fair to the planet. This is why our packaging is infinitely recyclable. Plus, it’s easier to seal and store a can on a camping or bike trip than a bag—and that’s how we roll.”

The three offerings boast names like Boliva Newton John, Frank Sumatra, and Kenya Dig it. Hotbox Roasters is available nationwide through a tiered subscription service starting at $15.95 a month. [Hotbox]
