The 2013 SAVOR collaboration teams up Brooklyn Brewery, Saranac and Ommegang to create New York Limited. The beer is a bottle conditioned white lager, brewed with a plethora of New York state ingredients including, lemon verbena, honey, state grown hops. Brewed at Brooklyn with a lager yeast, bottle conditioned with an ale yeast.

Style: Lager (w/ Lemon Verbena, Honey, Spices)

Brooklyn, Ommegang, & Saranac Team Up for SAVOR Brew

Much like the Craft Brewers Conference, SAVOR will also boast a special collaboration beer for attendees. It started with SAVOR Flowers, a collab between Dogfish Head and Boston Beer. 2012 found the likes of Sierra Nevada and Boulevard Brewing Co with Terra Incognita.

The 2013 collaboration teams up Brooklyn Brewery, Saranac and Ommegang to create New York Limited. The beer is a bottle conditioned white lager, brewed with a plethora of New York state ingredients including, lemon verbena, honey, state grown hops. Brewed at Brooklyn with a lager yeast, bottle conditioned with an ale yeast.

Ommegang Preps for Summer with Fleur De Houblon

There is something about January that makes you immediately think about Summer. Brewery Ommegang is looking ahead too. A newbie to drink as the days get warmer – Fleur De Houblon aka “Hop Flower Ale”.

Nothing is more evocative of summer than flowers, and the favorite flowers of brewers are hops, Fleur De Houblon Ale (Hop Flower Ale) is a rich gold color, with distinct floral hops in the aroma that follow through in the taste. The body and flavor are clean and dry, with pleasing complexity and spicy notes from our unique Ommegang house yeast.

Closer Look: Ommegang’s First Game Of Thrones Release

A closer look at Brewery Ommegang’s first Game Of Thrones inspired beer – Iron Thrones Blonde Ale. Iron is the first in a series of brews stemming from the hit HBO show. The blonde ale features additions of grains of paradise, and lemon peel.

Ommegang to Launch Game of Thrones Inspired Beers

Brewery Ommegang and HBO are teaming up for a series of beers inspired by HBO’s Game of Thrones. Iron Throne, a blonde ale, is the inaugural beer in the series and the result of a creative collaboration between Brewmaster Phil Leinhart and HBO.

Unlike previous efforts by brewers which were typically executed as ‘brewed under license’ arrangements or straightforward product placement pushes, the collaboration between Ommegang and HBO is focused on developing unique beers that are named and crafted to directly tie into themes and nuances of the medieval-like fantasy realm of Westeros and the surrounding kingdoms, where the competition to sit on the Iron Throne is fierce and deadly.

Iron Throne will be nationally available on draft and in 750ml bottles, for the suggested retail price of $8.50 per bottle, beginning in mid- to late-March and will be followed by the launch of additional beers.

Ommegang/Duvel Collab “Rustica” Arrives In October

Coming this October is a new collaboration between Brewery Ommegang and Duvel.  Rustica features the best of both worlds. For this collaborative brew, Ommegang changed just one detail about the infamous golden ale by Duvel – the yeast.   Ommegang’s house yeast gives this a fruitier, funkier note.

It’s our first Belgian-style Golden Ale, a elegant ale noted for using simple ingredients to create complex flavors and aromas. We worked closely with Duvel on the recipe and processes, yet added our own signature notes. This Duvel collaboration created a fine ale, one with all the depth and breadth of Duvel’s classic Belgian Golden Ale, along with rustic notes, including fruity esters from our yeast.  RUSTICA is brewed with generous amounts of fine Pils malts, like like Duvel. It’s hopped with Styrian Coldings, like Duvel. It comes in at 8.5% abv, like Duvel. And it offers lively carbonation with a large frothy white head, like Duvel.
