The list of spices in this coconut curry hefeweizen is almost as long as the list of awards bestowed on home brewer, Remin Bonnart. New Belgium Fall Seasonal: PUMPKICK

New Belgium Brewing (Fort Collins, CO) plays around with their seasonal releases every couple of years. It keeps the brewers creative, and the New Belgium drinkers happy. The above, PUMPKICK, has a lot in common with  Lips of Faith release – Kick, a collaboration with Elysian Brewing.

Kick was a slightly sour pumpkin beer brewed with cranberries, aged in oak. Looks like no oak in PUMPKICK, but you can look forward to pumpkin juice, cranberries, and more.

What’s that bite of  tartness doing in a pumpkin beer? Adding the unexpected kick of cranberry juice to brighten this traditionally spiced seasonal ale. PUMPKICK is brewed with plenty of pumpkin juice cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice, but its the cranberries and touch of lemongrass that send your tastebuds sailing.

Style: Pumpkin Beer (w/ Cranberry Juice, Cinnamon, Allspice, Nutmeg, Lemongrass)
Availability: 12oz bottles, Draft
Arrival: TBA

6% ABV

New Belgium Lips of Faith Yuzu

New Belgium Lips of Faith Yuzu

Joining New Belgium Brewing’s Lips of Faith Series, Yuzu. The beer features Yuzu, a fruit that looks like an yellow orange originating in China. Flavor of the Yuzu is tart, with some resemblances to Mandarin orange. The base beer for this Faith offering is a tart berliner weisse, a slightly sour wheat beer.

Who zu Yuzu? It’s a friendly fruit with grapefruit-meets-orange flavor that got involved with the souring side of New Belgium in this bottle conditioned wheat beer. They got on well enough to make this imperial berliner weisse style ale a smooth, delightfully tart sipper with a dry finish.

Style: Berliner Weisse (w/ Yuzu Fruit)
Availability: 22oz bombers, Draft
Arrival: TBA

8% ABV

A Dubbel Entry in New Belgium’s Lips of Faith

Among the most prolific series in the American craft brewing lineup is New Belgium’s Lips of Faith. The series allows the brewers play, experiment, and even collaborate. Say hello to Wild Wild Dubbel. The Colorado style dubbel is brewed with schisandra, medicinal herb used to cure a variety of remedies (including thirst). This isn’t the first time you’ve seen New Belgium use the herb either. It is on shelves now in Springboard.

A Colorado version of the Belgian dubbed, Wild Wild ropes you in with clove and dark fruit aromas. Deeply rich and malty, every sip has a creamy texture true to Belgian tradition before it rides off with hints of black pepper and cinnamon from the addition of schisandra berries.

Style: Dubbel (w/ Schisandra)
Availability: 22oz bombers, Draft
Arrival: TBA

8% ABV
