Monday Night Slap Fight canned today

Monday Night Slap Fight is officially being canned this morning (March 21st). This is the Atlanta, Georgia based brewery’s first canned beer.

Instead of canning one of the brewery’s flagship offerings, co-founder Jonathan Baker tells Beer Street Journal that he saw it as an opportunity to go a different way by launching something new – Monday Night Slap Fight.

Slap Fight is an India pale ale, brewed with Comet, Equinox, Mosaic, and Bravo hops. Different from the brewery’s Eye Patch IPA, which leans a bit more English-style IPA. This newbie is all American West Coast IPA you’ve come to know and love.

Slap Fight will woo you in with West Coast-style malt bill. but slaps you across the face with its tropical hop profile. Light in body, heavy in character, this IPA features Munich and Crystal pole malts for a clean, rich rnouthfeel.

Monday Night Slap Fight will be a 12 ounce can offering only.

Style: IPA
Hops: Comet, Equinox, Mosaic, Bravo
Availability: 12oz Cans
Release: Late March, 2016

6.5% ABV

Monday Night Fu ManBrew Gose up next in Clip On Series

Monday Night Fu ManBrew Gose looks to be the next release in the brewery’s Clip-On Series. Each release is a temporary “clip-on” to the brewery’s lineup, typically a spin on a year-round offering.

The brewery’s ginger wheat beer, known as Fu Manbrew, is the next beer the brewing team has tinkered with. Monday Night kettle soured the base beer, transforming it into more of a German-style gose.

The nose is a traditional German style known for its wheat base, tartness, and saltiness. We kettle sour our version, resulting in a pleasant lemon note that balances the sea salt nicely. The soul of Fu Manbrew lives on in this beer, with its crisp taste, aroma of lemongrass, and pristine mustache.

Monday Night Fu ManBrew Gose follows Blood Orange Blind Pirate and and Cinnamon Cocoa Drafty Kilt in the series.

The brewery has not yet announced this offering.

Style: Gose (w/ Ginger)
Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft. One-Off Release
Debut: TBA

5.2% ABV

Monday Night Georgian Imperial Stout joins Black Tie Series

Monday Night Georgian Imperial Stout starts shipping this week. A new addition to the brewery’s Black Tie Series.

Despite the brewery being based in Atlanta, Georgia, the ‘Georgian’ part of this beer name is actually referring to the country of Georgia. Monday Night Georgian Imperial Stout is brewed with 300 pounds of hazelnuts imported from the Eurasian country.

Incidentally, this is the first imperial stout released by Monday Night. The boozy newbie is brewed with a copius amount of flaked oats, which gives the stout a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. The hazelnut flavor isn’t overwhelming, but a nice, subtle compliment to this Russian imperial stout.

Monday Night Georgian Imperial Stout is available now in 22 ounce bottles and draft for a limited time.

Style: Imperial Stout (w/ Hazelnuts)
Availability: 22oz Bottles, Draft
Release: Early-February, 2016

11% ABV

Monday Night Cinnamon Cocoa Drafty Kilt launches Atlanta, Georgia based brewery’s “Clip-On Series” lineup.

The Clip-On Series is a side project for Monday Night, taking one of the brewery’s tried and true offerings and switching it up a bit. The first release was Serrano Eye Patch Ale, followed by Blood Orange Blind PirateSoon, a cinnamon cocoa spin on their scotch ale Drafty Kilt will grace the series.

Cinnamon is a versatile spice. You can stir it into oatmeal , add it to chili, and even snort it (not recommend). We thought we’d add it to our already delicious Drafty Kilt as a special treat. The addition of cocoa nibs makes this treat even more indulgent. Refined notes of spice and dark chocolate abound, making this beer perfect for a cold winter (week)night.
