Great Divide Celebrates 20 Years

Great Divide Brewing Company (Denver, CO) will mark 20 years of craft brewing with a new anniversary ale.

17th and 18th Anniversary Ales were oak aged imperial IPAs, with the brewery followed up with 19th Anniversary American strong ale with birch syrup. 20th Anniversary celebrates the milestone with a Belgian-style ale brewed with Viognier grape juice.

This Belgian-style Ale is a golden example of our traditional bold character, but with a little something special to commemorate the milestone. Fermented with Viognier grape juice, 20th Anniversary is both delicate and assertive. Big without being brutish, cunning without being cloying, this is a grown-up beer for a big-time celebration.

Look for Great Divide 20th Anniversary in 22oz bombers and draft.

Style: Belgian Strong Ale (w/ Grape Juice)
Availability: 22oz Bombers, Draft

Great Divide Brews Up a New IPA

I guess brewing IPAs is a bit like the wild west. The hoppy liquid roams free everywhere, and you have to fight for dominance. Great Divide Brewing Company (Denver, CO) is back in the saddle with hops in hand. This is Lasso, a new daring IPA creation from the Rocky Mountain state.

Lasso is brewed with a blend of Centennial, Columbus, and Cascade hops that’s a little lighter on the ABV (5%)

LASSO is the new frontier of India Pale Ale. Brewed with a robust roundup of  Columbus, Centennial and Cascade hops, its sessionable simplicity proves bigger isn’t always better. But make no mistake – the wild west hasn’t gone mild. That same untamed spirit thrives, and we reckon this i’ll go down mighty fine.

Great Divide Lasso IPA will be available in 12oz bottles and draft.

Style: IPA
Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft
Arrival: TBA

5% ABV

Great Divide Oatmeal Yeti

Great Divide Brewing’s new addition to the Yeti lineup has arrived. The no so mythical beer is a new take of the imperial stout, with the addition of oatmeal and raisins to the brew. Great Divide says Oatmeal is a “gentle beast.” Look for it now in 22oz bombers, and draft.

Much like its legendary predecessors, this Yeti is big, bold and dark.  The addition of rolled oats softens Yeti’s notoriously roasty backbone and the small amount of raisins added in the brew kettle create a unique dark fruit character.  Just as admired as those that came before it, Oatmeal Yeti Imperial Stout is a gentle beast.

Style: Imperial Stout (w/ Oatmeal, Raisins)
Availability: 22oz bombers, Draft. Seasonal release

The Next Great Divide Yeti: Oatmeal Yeti

A little while ago, Beer Street Journal mentioned that Great Divide (Denver, CO) would announce a new “Yeti” in the infamous series. Looks like we have our answer- Oatmeal Yeti. The base beer for each of the Yetis is a big imperial stout. From there, coffee, chocolate, or special barrel aging occur to make each one unique. For Oatmeal Yeti, rolled oats and raisins allow this beast to stand out.

Much like its legendary precedessors, this Yeti is big, bold and dark. The addition of rolled out softens Yeti’s notoriously roasty backbone, and the small amount of raisins addin the brew kettle creates a unique dark fruit character. Just as admired as those that came before it, Oatmeal Yeti Imperial Stout is a gentle beast.
