Founders announced today that they are going to expand to Kansas City, Kansas and Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska.

All three metro areas will receive the year round and seasonal products in bottle and draft in the first round of shipments. All the special releases will arrive according to the release schedule after December 2nd.

If you are looking to carry the products – Kansas City Central States Beverage; Omaha, Nebraska, represented by Premier-Midwest Beverage; and Lincoln, Nebraska, represented by K&Z Distributing.

Look for the 2014 lineup coming in November, 2014.

Founder’s Harvest Ale Bottled

Founder’s Harvest Ale has just been bottled. This crisp, hoppy ale will be on shelves over the next couple of weeks.

The beer is wet-hopped (fresh off the vine hops) for a fresh hoppy taste hop heads love.

This liquid dream pours a hazy golden straw color with a white, two-finger head. Your first sip rewards you with a super juicy hop presence bursting with fresh citrus, then finishes to introduce toasted malt undertones.

Founders Pale Ale & Aircraft Carriers

Founders Brewing Company announced the 8th and last entry into the Backstage Series for 2013, Sweet Repute. Tack on a pale ale to the news list. The brewery already has a year round dry hopped pale ale, so keep that in mind. The Gerald R. Ford Dry Hopped Pale Ale is most likely a special edition label.

The USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier is set to be christened on November 13, 2013. Interestingly, the ship CVN-78 is considered to be the lead class of Navy super carriers. It is over 1100 feet long, can carry over 75 aircraft, and cost 13 billion to build. Oh, and since it’s nuclear powered, it has unlimited ocean range. It never stops.

If you stop and think about it, aircraft carriers are a feat of technology and engineering. Just like beer can be.

A Video Look at Founder’s New Tap Room

Founders Brewing Company is opening up a revamped tap room today. This tiny little video is a look inside the new spot. Founders shut down the tap room for 13 days to complete the renovation.

This is the last piece of a $26 million dollar expansion by Founders.Their annual capacity is near 350,000 barrels or 10.8 million gallons of beer annually.

Founders Centennial IPA Released in Cans

Founders Brewing will be following up their All Day IPA can release with another hoppy offering – Centennial IPA. The year round offering features one hop, and a lot of flavor. The only thing you’re probably wish now is that summer would start over again.

Get ready to bask in the glory of the frothy head’s floral bouquet. Relish the citrus accents from the abundance of dry hopping. This one’s sweet, yet balanced. Malty undertones shake hands with the hop character for a finish that never turns too bitter.

Founder’s Newest Backstage “Mango” Now Available

Last week, those close to Founders Brewing Company (Grand Rapids, MI) had the first shot at the newest Backstage Release – Mango Magnifico Con Calor. [Magnificent Mango with Heat] is brewed with both mango fruit and habanero peppers. Trust me, the peppers very much there.  What starts as lightly tropical, will burn for a while when you are done. Tropical heat best describes this brew. Available in limited quantities in 750ml bottles.
