Your Devil’s Milk Fix Returns This Month

It’s getting cooler. You need a beer with a boozy backbone to it. Duclaw Brewing Co’s barleywine returns this month.  It is brewed in July, aggressively dry hopped, and aged until the November release.  On sale starting 11/14/12.

Devil’s Milk is an American-style Barley Wine. This beer exhibits a wealth of fruit flavors, from pears to plums to raisins. Devil’s Milk is dry hopped (hops added after fermentation) for a strong bite that balances its big malt backbone. Served in a snifter glass because of the high abv, barley wines are perfect as a relaxing “after-dinner” drink or nitecap.

Duclaw’s 4th eXile: X-4 Macchiato Milk Stout

DuClaw Brewing has just released bottles of X-4 Macchiato Milk Stout. The 4th release in the brewery’s eXile Series

X-4 Macchiato Milk Stout is black in color and full-bodied, with a silky, velvety mouthfeel. With a moderately strong 6.3% abv and just enough hop bitterness to balance rich flavors and aromas of roasted malt, chocolate, and real espresso verdi so lush, you won’t be certain if it was made by a brewer or a barista.

Duclaw Mad Bishop Returns Aug 22

Duclaw Brewing’s Mad Bishop Oktoberfest makes it’s seasonal return on August 22nd, 2012.

Haunting the congregation with its distinct copper color and rich toasted malt flavor, this true German-style Octoberfest lager is smooth in body and uses German hops in the brewing process to balance out the distinctive, toasted malt sweetness. The clean smoothness is created by the long conditioning (lagering) process of 8 weeks, which is something they don’t talk about in Sunday school.

Malts: Vienna Malt, Munich Malt, Caramunich Malt, Victory Malt
