Dogfish Head Fort Returns in 2015

By our best estimates, Dogfish Head Fort made its last appearance in 2011. Now, the (very) imperial fruit beer will return in 2015.

Dogfish Raison D’Extra Returns

It’s been seven years since Dogfish Head last brewed Raison D’ Extra. The strong ale is based on the brewery’s Raison D’Etre, a Belgian-style brown ale with brown sugar, and raisins.

Dogfish Raison D’Extra Returns

It’s been seven years since Dogfish Head last brewed Raison D’ Extra. The strong ale is based on the brewery’s Raison D’Etre, a Belgian-style brown ale with brown sugar, and raisins.

Dogfish Head Raison D’Extra takes things a bit further, to nearly double the ABV.

D’Extra takes this concept to the next level. What 120 Minute IPA is to 60 Minute IPA, D’Extra is the D’Etre. We’re pushing the limits of what a Belgian yeast can do (and we’ve discovered that’s somewhere in the ballpark of 15% to 18% ABV!)

Dogfish Head Raison D’Extra will be available again in 12oz bottles. Due to ABV, there will be state limitations.

Style: Belgian Strong Dark (w/ Raisins, Brown Sugar)
Availability: 12oz Bottles.
Return: December, 2014

18% ABV

Dogfish Head Promotes from Within

This afternoon I had a phone call with Sam Calagione. He really wanted to clarify a couple of things about brewery changes, and excitement with the future.

Sam hasn’t stepped aside, down, resigned, etc. Until now, there hasn’t been a CEO position. Nick Benz has done an amazing job and it’s time to promote. Sam is still president, and runs the brewery alongside Mariah Calagione (and arm to arm with the 200 passionate people the make Dogfish Head run.)

Sam is still just as involved as day one, and Nick will report to Sam.

Calagione will maintain his role with Dogfish Head of course, focusing on new products, growth strategy and of course, collaborations as president of the company and chairman of the board. Innovation, and off-centered as usual.

This is perhaps a little bit of semantic clarification. It all boils down to strategic growth. Congratulations to all involved.

Dogfish Head opened in June of 1995.

Reservations for Dogfish Head’s New Beer Hotel Start This Week

Dogfish Head Brewery (Milton, DE) has just completed $1.6 million dollars in renovations to a new 16 room inn near the brewery.

Rooms will run between $200 and $600 dollars a night (depending on size) and are dog friendly. One caveat we are told – the Inn doesn’t sell beer or food, so bring your own or head out to the nearby restaurants. The closest thing is the beer soap in every room

The Inn has its own website, going live soon. http://dogfishinn.com
