Backlash Creates “Chaos”
Backlash Beer Company is adding a new beer to the “Uprising!” series of beers dubbed Chaos.
The series was launched last May featured three different hop-forward IPAs, with hops like Amarillo, Galaxy, and Mosaic – known as Catalyst, Outbreak, and Riot.
This surprise fourth release combines the hops from all three previous releases in on chaotic bottle.

Backlash Beer Launches New Uprising! Series
Backlash Beer Company out of Boston has announced the launch of their new Uprising! Series. This new IPA series will feature hard to find hop varieties such as Simcoe, Centennial, Mosaic, Galaxy, and Amarillo. Back in March they released Salute, their first 2x IPA featuring Citra and Simcoe hops. In an attempt to replicate the hop intensity of Salute, the first beer in the Uprising! Series will be Catalyst, featuring Amarillo hops. Expect to find a more grapefruit-forward flavor in this beer than its predecessor.

Backlash Ships Second Apocalypse Beer “War”
Backlash Beer Company has shipped the second installment in their Apocalypse Beer Series – War. War is the second horseman of the Apocalypse, and the follow up to Conquest.
In the spirit of the horseman, I wanted to infuse this beer with an element of conflict. To get there, I pitted 3 yeast strains against one another in primary fermentation, 2 Belgian ale strains and a farmhouse strain. The result? It’s pretty safe to say that the farmhouse strain dominates the flavor profile.

Backlash Kicks Off Apocalypse with “Conquest”
The first release in a new series surrounding the Apocalpyse from Backlash is Conquest, a white IPA. Founder Helder on the beer’s flavor –
So, having smelled the beer, you would probably expect a giant hop smack in your cake-hole. However, this beer doesn’t quite do that. It’s very smooth, with a small amount of underlying bitterness. Granted, the tag “White IPA” may insinuate (to some people) a hoppier/more bitter profile. The taste is of wheat malt and orange sweetness, but finishes relatively dry with a tinge of piney bitterness. Is there such a thing as White Pale Ale?

Backlash Convergence

One of Boston’s newest up and coming breweries – Backlash Beer has a new one coming your way – Convergence.
Helder of Backlash touts their 2rd release as a dangerously quaffable saison, and it’s sure to be just that. Covergence is chock full of rye malt that complements the spicy flavor that the yeast strain they used. Backlash made their own candi sugar (because their just that cool) to up the drinkability. The flavors “converge” into smooth mouthfeel making this 7.5% glass of lovely hard to put down.
