Expect lovely, warm smells of single malt scotch, oaky bourbon barrels, smoke, sweet caramel and roasted malts, a bit of earthy spice, and a scintilla of dark fruit. It’s a kick-back sipper made to excite the palate.

Style: Scotch Ale (Barrel Aged)

Taste Expectations: Vanilla from the bourbon.  Touch of oak. Malts are sweet, & caramel, some bread.  Also a bit of dark fruits, chocolate, & a warming alcohol finish.

Anheuser-Busch Asks Paramount To Obscure Labels in Movie “Flight”

In theaters now is a new movie by Paramount Pictures called “Fight”. In the film, Denzel Washington plays airplane pilot Whip Whittaker. The movie’s premise is Whittaker’s plane failing forces an emergency landing that saves lives of many on board. The catch? Alcohol in his blood.

Whittaker is depict drinking Budweiser and driving, and flying a commercial plane. This depiction, which AB calls “unauthorized” has asked Paramount Pictures to remove or obscure the labels from all the films, and future DVDs and BluRays. Below, movie trailer for Flight, starring Denzel Washington. Mikkeller & Boxing Cat Team Up To Make “Bruce ChiLee IPA”

Bruce Lee is kicking ass again in the form of a beer collaboration. Danish brewer Mikkeller and Beijing, China’s Boxing Cat Brewery created Bruce ChiLee IPA. The resulting beer packs a punch. ChiLee is brewed with green chilis, rye malt and American Simcoe hops.  This is Boxing Cat’s second collaboration, the first with Great Leap Brewing in Shanghai, China.

Mikkeller has a long list of collaborations all over the world now, spanning from Asia, Europe and the United States. Bad news for the rest of the world, this beer will only be available at Boxing Cat in China.
