UPDATE 4/18: Per Hoppin Frog’s Facebook Page Update – We are currently aging our next special release – “Barrel Aged BORIS Royale”. We have not finalized the label yet. We plan on a brewery only release of our initial batch in May or June. Watch for updates on Facebook and our website. We will be aging the first production batches in special, very flavorful, Canadian whiskey barrels and we are scheduling a production release in about 12 months.
Hoppin Frog (Akron, OH) is releasing a new addition of their popular Barrel Aged B.O.R.I.S. The Crusher Oatmeal Imperial Stout. The medal winning edition of Boris spends its final days at the brewery in whiskey barrels (Jack, etc.) This new edition of Boris – Boris Royale spends time in Canadian Crown Royal barrels.
After speaking with Fred Karm, brewmaster at Hoppin Frog – this first edition release will be very limited. Sold only at the brewery in Akron. Karm hopes to be able to release more of it in the future. Tentative Description:
