Upright Brewing Celebrates Three Years With Blend Love And Other New Brews

Upright Brewing will celebrate their third anniversary on March 30th and will release Blend Love, a tribute to brewmaster Ben Love.  Naming beers after brewers was something that was regularly discussed on the bottling line and they finally decided to actually do it.  The brew is “a barrel-aged beer with cherries and raspberries.”   5.5%ABV.

Here is what Upright has to say about the beer…

Upright is three years in! To celebrate, come join us at the brewery Friday the 30th from 4:30 to 9 pm and check out our newest seasonal beer, Blend Love! Four casks containing a sour cherry version of the Four were blended with about a cask and a half of raspberry laden Six to create this characterful sour ale, full of lactic and acetic character, fruit and oak tannins, and a light funkiness from brettanomyces yeast. It was a blast to produce and then name this beer after one of Upright’s favorite people and brewers, Ben Love. It’s perfectly ready to enjoy now but will cellar well for several years. One keg will be on tap along with plenty of bottles for sale at $12 a 750ml and $125 a case. Please note there will be a single case per person limit. During the anniversary on the 30th, expect to see some other neat beers on tap as well!

Upright Brewing also has some other new brews coming down the pipeline soon.

One is a a third annual seasonal bottle release called Gose.  Gose is a traditional German Ale with one odd ingredient – salt.  It will be ready sometime this month depending on what happens with the salt when they bottle it.  5.2% ABV.

Pure Wit is currently available on draft and will be available in bottle in a few weeks.  This beer is a Belgian Witbier brewed with coriander, orange peel, and oats.  5% ABV.

Monk & Mingus is a collaboration with Maritime Pacific head brewer, Corey Blogett.  This beer was originally made for Cheers to Belgian Beers and is different every year.  This year’s edition will be a strong stout with cold pressed coffee from Heart Coffee Roasters.

Also noteworthy, is that Upright Brewing has started shipping to Nevada though Cepage Solutions.  Drafts available now, and bottles are on the way
