Bob Dylan’s Commercial Not a Hit Among Brewers

“Is there anything more American than America?”

That’s the question that famed singer Bob Dylan asks in the new commercial last night for Chrysler. The patriotic commercial makes a compelling and inspirational point about what Detroit did for the car world.

As the tv spot nears the end, Dylan states – “Let Germany brew your beer, let Switzerland make your watch, let Asia assemble your phone, WE will build your car.

Part of that line perturbed quite a few American craft brewers. Comments on Facebook ranged from – “Bob Dylan don’t tell me how to brew my beer” to “Keep your car, WE will brew your beer.”

Now I’m sure Chrysler meant no harm, but nearly 3,000 U.S. breweries might not defer to Germany for their beer.
