Arson Strikes New Belgium Asheville


Two fires broke out at New Belgium’s new site in Asheville, North Carolina. Two separate buildings were damaged.

The fires broke out around 11pm on Friday April, 5th. While no injuries were reported, it took firefighters until 4 AM to extinguish the blaze. Investigators call the fire intentional. Two existing structures, The Penland Auction House and a hay barn were heavily damaged. The Auction House was going to be disassembled this Spring and re-purposed on site at the new brewery.

The brewery had already been paying for increased security patrol due to other suspicious fires in the area. More patrols are expected.
