AB Drops ABV Of Big Brands In UK

If you’re drinking Stella Artois, Budweiser, & Beck’s in the UK, the alcohol by volume will be  a bit lower.  The reduction is an attempt to cut the sting of rising industry costs, and lower duty (tax) costs.

“Our decision to bring Stella Artois, Budweiser and Beck’s to the UK market at 4.8% abv during 2012 is in line with evolving UK category trends,” said a spokeswoman.

The Stella, Bud & Becks will drop from 5% to 4.8% ABV in the United Kingdom. Expect the change in April.  [TheGrocer]
