This year, Half Acre Brewing (Chicago, IL) is brewing 2 wet hop harvest beers. The first one was announced this AM. StickyFat, a black IPA, was released for the first time last year. HA described 2010 Bear as “less than subtle.”
2011’s Sticky is apparently “more refined.” Half Acre took a little different approach with this batch. New hops from a different farmer were used.
Working with wet hops is a process without strict rules. The results speak to the year, the crop, the weather and the choices you made. StickyFat is here again, our tribute to the StickyFat Bear, the very tired, the very mellow bear that looks to get hold of the hops farmers nurtured all those months.
There are t-shirts available too.
