Cigar City Brewing is working a beer for Tampa’s Criterium Bike Race coming up in March. This bike festy beer is a wheat ale brewed with bitter curacao peel. (Orange peel.)

Ever see bikes move faster than cars? You will on Saturday, March 31st, 2012 in Tampa’s Downtown!

Criterium-style bicycle racing – like stock car racing on two wheels. Hang out at Tampa’s Longest Bar with a beer. Grab a bite from a food truck or sidewalk cafe. Run in the 5K race. Sports enthusiasts, cyclists of all types, families and foodies will find something to enjoy at the largest one day event in the state.

New Cans: Goose Island 312 Wheat

Goose Island’s 312 Urban Wheat (Chi-town area code) is headed for cans in the future. This American pale wheat ale is brewed every month except January. The is the first cans to emerge from Goose Island. As you might have assumed, the cans will come out of the Anheuser-Busch plant in Baldwinsville, New York.

Inspired by the city of Chicago and densely populated with flavor, 312’s spicy aroma of Cascade hops is followed by a crisp, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body that’s immensely refreshing.

Style: American Pale Wheat Hops: Liberty, Palisade
Malts: Two Row, Torrified Wheat
