Off Color’s Marshmallow Graham Cracker Beer Bottled

Off Color Brewing (Chicago) Dinosmores has finally found it’s way into bottles.

The imperial stout has a little history, actually. It was first brewed with Amager Brewery, and West Lakeview Liquors in Chicago. It was voted best beer in the brewery’s Brewpub Shootout when it was paired with dinosaur shaped s’mores. Eventually the beer was named for a little of the food and beer the flavor is inspired by. Make sense? Didn’t think so. Story aside, this is beer you don’t want to miss.

Style: Imperial Stout (w/ Graham Crackers. Vanilla Beans. Cocoa Nibs)
Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft

10.5% ABV

Duclaw’s Dirty Little Freak Sounds Like Cookies

if you read the description of DuClaw Brewing’s Dirty Little Freak, you should be thinking Girl Scout cookie time. The beer sounds as decadent as Sweet Baby Jesus Peanut Butter Porter. Dirty Little Freak features flavors of coconut, caramel, and chocolate.

A dominant blend of roasted malt, coconut, caramel, and chocolate essences, barely restrained by a gentle hop bite, that tantalizes your senses all the way through to a satisfying finish. Submit to indulgence and be warned…

Style: Porter (w/ Vanilla Beans)
Availability: 12oz Bottles
Arrival: TBA

5.8% ABV

The Bruery Couverteur Coming to Preservation Series [UPDATE]

The Bruery’s new concoction featuring cocoa nibs and vanilla beans- Couverteur. Part of the Preservation Series.

Couverteur is a Belgian-style Dubbel that has been fermented with cacao nibs and vanilla beans, adding a layer of chocolately complexity to the malt rich ale. Couverteur is best enjoyed fresh.

The Bruery Converteur will be available in 750ml bottles.

Style: Dubbel (w/ Cocoa Nibs, Vanilla Beans)
Availability: 750ml bottles
Arrival: May, 2014

8% ABV

Update 6/25/14: The Bruery has issued a recall on Couverteur, after variations in pH indicating potential infection.

“Your satisfaction with your membership in our Hoarders and Reserve Societies is one of our highest priorities. And we thank you for being part of our world. Believe us when we say that we hate it when our beers don’t turn out as we expected. The Bruery is a labor of love and it hurts us personally when we have to fall on our sword and admit to a fault in our beer, but we never want to release a beer that we don’t steadfastly believe in.

Just to note again, refunds for bottles and shipping fees will be automatically processed beginning next week. We will not be fulfilling any pending orders for Couverteur.”

Cigar City Hunahpu a Step Further: Aged in Two Barrels

Cigar City’s Hunahpu Imperial Stout is a perennial favorite, and a bit of a legend. Hunahpu, a strong imperial stout, is brewed with cocoa nibs, ancho and pasilla chilies, cinnamon, and Madagascar vanilla beans. The next release of it is in March, 2014.

Even more rare, are barrel aged editions of this brew. Now for the first time a “double barrel” edition will surface. Hunahpu was/is aged in both rum and brandy barrels (each a separate version of the barrel aged Hunahpu series) and blended together.

The result is sure to be rare (released in lottery or the brewery’s El Catador Club) and definitely mega trade bait. The brewery will announce details closer to release.

Style: Imperial Stout (w/ CinnamonVanilla beansChili PeppersCacao Nibs. Barrel Aged. Rum, Brandy)

Availability: 750 ml bottles
Arrival: TBA. Brewery only
