Creature Comforts Transmission, a collaboration with Arizona Wilderness

Creature Comforts Transmission is a new collaboration debuts later this month, brewed with Gilbert, Arizona based Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co.

The base beer is a saison, brewed with ingredients local to each brewery. Lisbon lemons and Arizona sweet oranges were grown locally by The Farm at Agritopia, and provided by Arizona Wilderness.

Creature Comforts added honey from Booger Hill Bee Company, based in Danielsville, Georgia. The bottle has been condtioning for the past four months with Creature’s mixed culture blend of yeast and bacteria.

Those interested in bottles will find them on a special Creature Comforts Transmission tour at the brewery in Athens, Georgia on September 29th, 2016.

Good People Urban Farmer ships this week

Good People Urban Farmer cans debut this week. The brewery purchased a new can labeler, while allows the brewery to expand the can lineup more easily.

Before this week, Good People Brewing had to order printed cans and wait for them to arrive. The downside of that – with so many breweries going to cans, the wait list for a new printed can is getting quite long. The line at the printer for labels? Much shorter.

Good People Urban Farmer is a traditional farmhouse ale, brewed with pale malt and a blend of saison yeasts.

…a unique blend of saison yeast strains, which lend flavor and aroma characteristics of grapefruit, pineapple, orange zest, earthiness and spiciness.

 

Starting the first week of September, Good People Urban Farmer starting shipping in 12 ounce cans.

Carolina Bauernhaus Barrel Aged Grand Ole Fuzz

Carolina Bauernhaus Barrel Aged Grand Ole Fuzz will be available at the Anderson, South Carolina on September 2nd.

The beer was brewed with RJ Rockers in Spartanburg, South Carolina, using SouthYeast Labs yeasts. Carolina Bauernhaus Barrel Aged Grand Ole Fuzz spends 11 months in freshly used Biltmore Winery Pinot Noir barrels.

…[The] barrels developing an unrepeatable, deep complexity. The extended aging lead to notes of sweet fruits and dry tannins, a mild tartness, and a pleasant earthy spice.

Carolina Bauernhaus Barrel Aged Grand Ole Fuzz will be available in 750ml bottles starting at 4pm on September 2nd. No distribution.

Great Divide Nadia Kali Hibiscus Saison is fresh & beautiful

Great Divide Nadia Kali had made a June debut. The beer kicks off the Denver, Colorado based brewery’s new Tank Farm Series.

Hibiscus gives Great Divide Nadia Kali its pink color. The brewery didn’t stop there, however. The saison also boasts ginger and lemon peel as well.

…while ginger root gives it a subtle spice and hint of woodsy maturity, and lemon peel adds a citrus tartness to keep you on your toes. Full of complexity and intrigue, this unfiltered beauty will show you just how deceiving looks can be.

The most striking aspect of this beer is the color. Slightly pink – almost glows in the sun. No doubt you are drinking a full flavored saison, as the yeast tells most of the story. The ginger and lemon bolster a nice, fresh flavor. A great warm weather drinker. Remember, it’s still hot out there.

Great Divide Nadia Kali started shipping in 12 ounce bottles and draft in June, 2016 as a seasonal release.

Flying Dog Brewhouse Rarities White Peach Saison debuts

Flying Dog Brewhouse Rarities White Peach Saison has debuted, a late summer saison with peaches.

Erin and Nate from the brewery’s marketing team, mentioned the idea for this release. As a late summer release, a French-style saison would be nicely nuanced by white peaches. In case you don’t know, white or pale peach is lower in acidity, than a yellow peach, and taste sweeter.

The candy-sweet character of El Dorado hops added a modern twist to the beer, which is already high on our crushability scale.

Flying Dog Brewhouse Rarities White Peach Saison is a 12 ounce bottle and draft limited offering.

Allagash Fluxus 2016 debuts, with gin & ginger

Allagash Fluxus 2016 is ready for the public. The beer’s style changes annually, a commemoration of Allagash selling their first beer in 1995.

This year’s recipe is saison brewed with a plethora of Allagash base malt, including barley, rye, and wheat. After a heathy dosing of Noble hops, and ginger root, the beer was then partially aged in gin barrels. The barrels previously held Barr Hill Tom Cat Gin, made by Caledonia Spirits in Hardwick, Vermont.

The result is a highly aromatic saison with overtones of ginger and botanicals, a hint of vanilla in the flavor, and a vibrant finish.

Allagash Fluxus 2016 is a part of the brewery’s Tribute Series, with the likes of Hugh Malone, Victor and Victoria.

Wicked Weed Watermelon Saison joins the brewery’s Pub Can Series on July 4th.

The beer has been a staple in the Asheville, North Carolina based brewery’s lineup for years, and has never been packaged. Unfortunately, Wicked Weed Watermelon Saison will only be available in 12 ounce cans at the brewpub, with no distribution.
