New Release: Abita Seersucker Pils

Abita Brewing has released Seersucker Summer Pils in draft and bottles. The full bodied pilsner is a brand new seasonal from Abita.

Abita Seersucker Summer Pils (June – September) is a traditional pilsner with a full bodied malt flavor, hop bitterness and a light golden color. It is made with pilsner and carapils malts, hopped with German Tradition and Spalt hops. This Pils pairs well with seasonal summer favorites like grilled chicken, salmon or garden salads. It also is a refreshing choice with spicier dishes, Mexican food and most Asian cuisines. Try it with a mild white Vermont cheddar, Havarti or Monterey Jack cheese.

SweetWater Releases New Year Round Offering

SweetWater Brewing Company (Atlanta, GA) has released their newest year round offering – Take Two Pils.

Brewed with the traditional spicy pilsner “Noble Hop” Saaz, SweetWater added a twist throwing in Styrian Golding hops, delivering earthy, spicy aromas and flavors, as well as American Mt. Hood hops to add clean, flowery notes. Kicking up the adventure, brewers then dry hopped the beer with all three hop varieties for SweetWater’s signature style.

The German-style pilsner debuts first in the Tacklebox mixed pack, then six packs and draft later this month.

Technically speaking, Nerd Alert is an ale. And if you want to get reeealIlly technical, we fermented this beer with ale yeast at low temperatures to achieve an incredibly clean flavor. However, if you bring up this knowledge in normal circles, you will, in fact, be labeled a nerd. So just enjoy the straw-blond appearance (Like the hair of the girl the nerd could never get) and the crisp, safe essence (like the nerd’s comic book room).

Nerd Alert will join Drafty Kit, Eye Patch IPA,  and FuMan Brew in 12oz bottles.

Torpedo Pilsner is a hop-forward take on the crisp, classic lager. We and the folks at Firestone Walker share a passion for New Zealand hop varietals, so we loaded our legendary Hop Torpedo with the southern hemisphere’s finest hops for a fruity, floral twist on the pilsner style. We brew in Chico, CA, and Mills River, NC, to bring you the finest quality beer.

Torpedo Pilsner is one of twelve offerings coming this July in Sierra Nevada’s Beer Camp Across America Mixed Pack.

“Our traditional Bohemian style Pilsner is brewed with Weyermann Bohemian Pilsner malt and tettnang hops. Straw in color, this light-bodied, 4.8% session beer, offers a floral malty nose and a clean, crisp, malty hop taste. Enjoy Park Day for a day in the park or all year long.”

Look for distribution begins in early March, 2014.
