Creature Comforts Oh Fantastic Then! release on hold

Creature Comforts Oh, Fantastic Then! was coming to the brewery’s Taproom Series this week. The brewery has put this beer on hold. A new date has not been set.

Starting back in October, the Athens, Georgia based brewery launched a canned series of taproom releases, coinciding with an expansion to the brewhouse. The expansion allowed the brewery a little wiggle room in the production schedule.

So far, that room as allowed for Crescendo, Duende, and now a new pale ale – Oh, Fantastic Then!

This “balanced and elegant” pale ale features Southern Passion hops from South Africa, plus the well known Azacca and Mosaic hops.

The result is a fruity, earthy, & funky beer.

Creature Comforts Oh, Fantastic Then! will be a 12 ounce can and draft offering, available on the tour at a future date.

Style: Pale Ale
Hops: Southern Passion, Mosaic, Azacca

Availability: 12oz Cans, Draft. Brewery only.

Upland Latitude Adjustment, a winter escape beer

Upland Latitude Adjustment provides a little escape from your typical winter seasonal release. Previously known as Beard of Paradise from the Upland Brewing’s Side Trail series, Latitude Adjustment is back as a seasonal release due to its popularity. This “winter escape” beer brings a tropical pale ale with pineapple and coconut into the season of malty winter favorites.

“Latitude Adjustment is intended to be a “winter escape” beer, a kind of brew that you might typically see as a summer seasonal, intended to give the drinker a psychological relief from the chill of winter by providing the impression of warmer climes. Those looking for a change from the malty winter brews will enjoy this complex and refreshing pale ale.” – Innovation Lead Matt Wisley.

Upland Brewing, based in Bloomington, Indiana, creates Latitude Adjustment by brewing with Mosaic hops and coconut. They then add pineapples near the end of fermentation.

Lagunitas Born Yesterday back for a 3rd year

Lagunitas Born Yesterday, the brewery’s fresh hop pale ale, is returning once again in 2016.

Very few bottles got very far from the Golden State. starting in  2015, the beer was  brewed in Chicago as well, making the beer more widely available.

Lagunitas Born Yesterday features whole cone, un-kilned Mosaic, Equinox, Citra, Simcoe and Amarillo hops. The beer bottles and ships the same day.

The brewery announced today that Lagunitas Born Yesterday has been bottled, and already showing up on shelves.

New Series: Good People SMASH Pale Ale

Good People SMASH Pale Ale might see packaging in the near future.

You might see the term “SMASH” running around the beer world lately. It means Single Malt and Single Hop. Essentially, the brewery chooses one of each in order to create a unique pale ale, IPA, etc.

It would appear the brewery will unveil a series of SMASH beers in new packaging. The Birmingham, Alabama based brewery has released various versions of single hop, single malt pale ales on draft in the past.

This light bodied brew marries a hint of hops with a whisker of tartness for a subtle citrus flavor. Silky smooth and refreshing, it’s the perfect beer.

Good People SMASH Pale Ale will be a 12 ounce can offering. The brewery has not yet announced this series.

Red Hare Cotton Tail Orange Creamsic-ale, a beer dessert

Red Hare Cotton Tail Orange Creamsic-Ale is the next canned release by the Marietta, Georgia brewery.

The base beer being their year-round Cotton Tail Pale Ale, the Red Hare Brewing team has added orange and vanilla, with extra citrus notes coming from an addition of Zythos hops.

The result? It really does taste like an orange creamsicle. Plus a little bit of hoppy pale ale too. Our description might not do the beer justice, but believe us when we say, your nose will know when you open this can.

Orange flavors mirror the citrus notes of Zythos hops, while smooth sweet vanilla beans compliment their slight bitterness. Tastes just like a cold orange creamsicle on a hot day!

Red Hare Cotton Tail Orange Creamsic-Ale will be available in 12 ounce cans and draft as a seasonal release.

Style: Pale Ale (w/ Orange, Vanilla.)
Hops: Zythos
Availability: 12oz Cans, Draft.

Founders Pale Joe is this year’s ArtPrize beer

Founders Pale Joe will join the brewery’s ArtPrize lineup of beers in September.

Artprize is an international art competition, held annually in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The winners are decided by both public vote and expert panel. The Founders Brewing taproom is one of the display venues.

Founders Pale Joe is the brainchild of brewmaster Jeremy Kosmicki. The base beer is a pale ale, infused with lightly roasted coffee from local Ferris Coffee and Nut Co.

Your eyes will tell you one thing, but your palate will tell you another. Light in color but full in flavor, this golden ale features notes of gently roasted, fruit-forward coffee. Pale Joe features a special blend of high-end Ethiopian coffee expertly roasted by our hometown neighbors at Ferris Coffee and Nut. It’s the love child of your favorite iced coffee and, well, beer.

The label was chosen from a pool of submissions from the brewery employees. The winning submission came from Lead Cellar Operator and Kendall College of Art & Design graduate, Aaron Rossel.

Founders Pale Joe will be available in 12 ounce bottles and draft in Michigan, Wisconsin, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Ohio, New Jersey, New York City and Boston, MA. Some draft will be found across the rest of the brewery’s distribution network.
