Odell Cloud Catcher Milkshake IPA is coming in August

Odell Cloud Catcher Milkshake IPA

Odell Cloud Catcher Milkshake IPA is set to debut later this summer.

The currently unofficial style of beer known as the “milkshake India pale ale” is basically a hazy IPA plus lactose, a milk sugar. Most milkshakes have vanilla beans and fruit also added.

Fort Collins, Colorado based Odell Brewing is slated to release Cloud Catcher Milkshake IPA this August. The hop forward, smooth IPA is purported to feature flavors of “creamsicle and peach”, although the label artwork doesn’t mention the addition of any fruit.

Our fabled Odell Cloud Catcher roams the sunset, sweeping up every stray Cumulonimbus. She has one mission: to capture the key ingredient to our hazy, smooth Milkshake IPA. Hop-forward with notes of creamsicle and peach, it delivers a citrus-like burst alongside its velvety texture. Her risk is your delicious reward.

Odell Cloud Catcher will be available in 12-ounce cans and draft in August, according to the brewery’s website.

Style: Milkshake IPA (Hazy IPA) (w/ Lactose)
Availability: 12oz Cans, Draft.
Debut: August 2018

5.3% ABV

Ommegang Neon Rainbows will be the brewery’s first in-house can

Ommegang Neon Rainbows

Brewery Ommegang has announced the addition of a canning line to their Cooperstown, New York facility. Their first “in-house” cans will debut this month.

FX Matt Brewing has been assisting Ommegang with canning for the past two years. Witte Wheat Ale and Nirvana IPA, and Short Sleeve Saison have been distributed to New York state only.

Despite the brewery’s diverse portfolio of beers, Ommegang Neon Rainbows has been tapped for their inaugural home aluminum run. Neon Rainbows is just the second release in the brewery’s “Farmstead Series” of beers, following Hopstate NY IPA.

Transcending the Ommegang’s Belgian inspired traditions, Neon Rainbows is a double dry-hopped New England style IPA. Originally, Rainbows was brewed for ‘Belgium comes to Cooperstown Festival’, only to become a favorite with the brewery local and loyal. The big, juicy IPA features a hefty lineup of hops, including Magnum, Mosaic, Simcoe, Citra, Centennial, and Topaz. The dank dry-hop lineup includes Mosaic, Simcoe, Citra, and Topaz.

Bursting with juicy tropical fruit flavors and aromas and paired with a pillowy mouthfeel and low bitterness, Neon Rainbows is 6.6% ABV and 45 IBUs.

The only downside to this news? Ommegang Neon Rainbows is a brewery only release on May 26th.

Style: Hazy IPA
Hops: Magnum, Mosaic, Simcoe, Citra, Centennial, Topaz
Availability: 16oz Cans. Brewery Only
Debut (Cans): 5/26/18

6.6% ABV, 45 IBUs
