New Belgium Brut IPA opens “Up Next” Series for the brewery

The India pale ale continues to self-evolve in America. From English IPA to American IPA, from West Coast to the New England IPA, there’s always a new way to drink your hops. The latest stylistic trend is the “Brut-style”, inspired by the sparkling wine world. Kicking off a new “Up Next” series is New Belgium Brut IPA arriving in time for the new year.

Dick Cantwell of Magnolia Brewing in San Francisco (a New Belgium partner) inspired this “bubbly” release, an effervescent IPA with white grape and tropical notes. New Belgium characterizes this release as the “crisp alternative to hazy, fruit-forward IPAs” that dominate the market right now.

New Belgium Brut IPA is available in 12-ounce bottles and draft through the beginning of the new year.

Style: IPA (Brut IPA)
Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft. One-time Offering
Debut: December 2018

Hi-Wire Hop Circus Tropical White IPA opens new year-round IPA series

Hi-Wire Hop Circus Tropical White IPA will lead off new “Hop Circus”, a year-round series of rotating India pale ales.

The Asheville, North Carolina based brewery has found great success with their Hi-Pitch Mosaic India Pale Ale, as well as their hazy Hazy&Juicy&Hoppy&Fresh series of IPAs. Instead of departing too far from these hoppy successes, Hi-Wire is opting to tack on a rotating series of beer’s most popular style – the India pale ale.

Hi-Wire Hop Circus Tropical White IPA is the inaugural release in this “Hop Circus”, a white (wheat heavy) IPA. The “tropical’ is thanks to mango and pineapple fruit, plus a blast of white grape and citrus from Hallertau Blanc and Citra hops. “With the Hop Circus series, we get to meet in the middle by experimenting in the wide range of IPA styles, but keeping the beer at a more affordable price point,” says brewery co-owner Chris Frosaker.

Tropical White IPA, as well as all the Hop Circus releases, are available in 12-ounce cans and draft across the brewery’s entire distribution footprint.

Style: IPA (White IPA) (w/ Mango. Pineapple.)
Hops: Hallertau Blanc, Citra
Malts: Rolled Oats

Availability: 12oz Cans, Draft. One-Off Release.

Pair with Easy Mac & lonely nights. Monday Night Dinner For One starts September

Monday Night Dinner For One debuts on September 1st. A lonely beer for one.

The Atlanta based brewery calls this a “multigrain India pale ale”, as it’s brewed with a mix of torrified wheat and spelt. The difference? Spelt is also called “hulled wheat”, a subspecies of common wheat. Torrified wheat refers to the process the wheat is treated with. In this case – a high-temperature heat treatment that breaks down the structure of the grain.

Both are used in this case for a hazy effect in the IPA. Because -these days it’s all about haze.

A rustic, smooth IPA that’s the perfect pair for ramen noodles, tv dinners and boxed mac and cheese.

Monday Night Dinner For One will be available in 12-ounce cans and draft, starting at 12 noon on September 1st.

Style: IPA
Hops: Mosaic, Motueka, Hallertau Blanc
Availability: 12oz Cans, Draft.
Debut: 9/1/18
