Cigar City White Oaked Jai Lai in a Can?

Inside this can will be an oak aged beer. Only a handful of those that I can think of. Cigar City’s final addition to their can line (for now) will be their White Oak Aged Jai Alai. Cigar City’s distribution has varied (on pretty much everything) so fingers crossed for summer drinking.

“The white oak adds smoothing notes of vanilla and slight hints of dill to the aroma and flavor profile. The finish is elegantly dry due to the light tannin notes from oak aging and though still loaded with hop flavor, hop bitterness is more restrained.”

Style: IPA (White Oak Aged)
Availability: 12oz Bottles, Draft, 12 oz Cans (Soon)
Arrival: TBA

7.5% ABV

Dogfish Head Sixty-One: IPA with Syrah Grape Must

Dogfish Head Craft Brewery (Milton, DE) has a long standing history with beer and wine. You’ll notice that most recently in Noble Rot, a beer brewed with grape must. Just like Noble Rot, Sixty-One is born out of Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione’s experimental nature. Years ago, Sam started pouring a little red wine in his glass of 6o Minute IPA. Truly a marriage of beer and wine.

Sixty-One takes the brewery’s year round 60 Minute IPA and adds Syrah grape must from California. Look for Sixty-One this March, then 4 times a year.Style: IPA (w/ Grape Must)
Availability: 12oz bottle/ 4 packs, Draft
Arrival: March, 2013

6.5% ABV

Interesting Fact:  The name Sixty-One is a reminder that this beer is Dogfish Head’s best-selling 60 Minute IPA plus one new ingredient. The label, painted by Sam, isn’t your typical watercolor. Calagione mixed the green pigment with beer and the red pigment with wine. The browns on the label are done with melted chocolate.
